Early this year there was a Managed Portfolio promotion by FSM, if you subscribe to their MP you’ll get lifetime 0% subscription fee.

I just confirmed with FSM that I can change the RSP amount and I can still enjoy the 0% subscription fee.

This means that the only fee that I have to pay is 0.50% management fee per annum.

For the MP one of the fund is KGF, if I want to enter KGF normally I’ll have to pay 1.75% sales charge. It also comes with 1.50% annual management fee.

If I were to invest through MP, I can bypass all that and only pay 0.50% annual management fee. Is there anything I’m missing?

other than those mentioned by tadashi987,
this is what i thought too....
if you wanted KGF and think that KGF (or any other funds) is going to be great in the coming future....
if you buy your self, you can buy a much as you like to suit your % of allocation...
but if you rely on MP to buy, you cannot control the % of allocation.

look at the % of KGF being allocated in the MP,....is that % allocated in the MP is of the same desire as yours?

KGF is just my example to illustrate the scenario, I do not have any preference on the portfolio allocation.

my previous post is also an example to illustrate the scenario where, funds selection and % of allocated in MP may not suit yours in your own desire portfolio

My indicator are lagging indicators because they are based on price action. I cannot predict before market turn lower. I use a dynamic portfolio sector n region allocation to mitigate this effect which allows me to profit both direction. I have been slowly adding to gold position since Feb. For equity, I've cut my holding by a little bit to lock some profit around Jun. Mostly by 1/3. But after that market continues to rally with a crazy euphoria. Gold new highs. I will share here once I see a momentum change.

Retail investors are just crazy.

I always advocate to stay invested. U can check my allocation here.

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=97362912

Historical there is a huge penalty to the portfolio return if you are out of the market n waiting at the sidelines with the majority of your portfolio in bond or cash.

https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/04/11/w...-in-the-st.aspx

At this moment, I don't see anything to buy if u have fresh fund. I also keeping my cash dry now. I keep in money market coz I can capture same day price if I decide to buy something. I can't have same day price if I keep in bond because they need to sell out of bond first. Anyway, bond also drop when momentum change lower recently, and so has gold. But different is gold goes up faster than bond and offer the same protection for me. Coz of this I dont like bond.

Just to give some figure for past 12m

Gold lowest drawdown -2.14
Downside deviation 0.70
Upside average 4.48

Asnita Bond -3.01
Downside deviation 0.70
Upside average 0.95

Ambond -5.24
Downside deviation 1.42
Upside average 1.57

The only thing that Bond offers is better std dev. Which is important if you dont like to see your port value fluctuate. Not important for me.

I track the monthly change via FSM and calculate the semideviation numbers to get the sortino ratio

I use this to know which one has the tendency to drop wildly below 0 and sort accordingly.

This combine with sharpe ratio help with my fund selection as sharpe dont paint the whole picture.

I am grateful FSM have the raw data i can use. Not sure how long this will last.
