guys recently i bought a ryzen 1400, when i play games without air-con turn on...i can hear the processor fan (stock fan) run like super fast and noisy, but when i turn on my air-con the pc will be very silent...i wondering is this normal for ryzen 5 processor?

http://wccftech.com/amd-takes-10-4-cpu-sha...e-gain-history/

AMD has reportedly gained 10.4 percentage points of CPU market share in the second quarter of 2017. This makes it the largest x86 CPU market share gain in the history of the Sunnyvale, California based chip maker against its much larger rival Intel.

The data is courtesy of PassMark’s quarterly market share report, which is based on the thousands of submissions that go through the database in any given quarter.  It’s important to note that because PassMark’s market share data is based on benchmark submissions it counts actual systems in use, rather than systems sold. It also does not include consoles or any computer systems running operating systems other than Windows.

outside there are still lots of AMD user that still in AM3 platform that due to upgrade just like me

with intel being a d!ck in pricing and annual socket change, this high of market share amd able to capture is no surprise.

im saving bullet for the ryzen 5

I only play game and 7700k is the best cpu for gaming now. Not sure how ryzen 7 will improve over time

I think if you're going to use your system for a long time, u can just go for Ryzen 7

ryzen 7 may improve, since amd has a longer vision, as in they can perceive how the software in the future will work. games will possibly move to multi-threaded which makes ryzen 7 to be powerful. look at their asynchronous computing strategy which was done years ago, and now being used on DX12 and Vulkan.

Yeah, I got RAM compatibility issue when OC RAM too. XMP profile doesn't load properly and have to do it manually. Still won't work properly even with 1.2V SOC. Now gotta buy according to QVL. Definitely DDR4-2800 (downgrades to 2666) not in the list for my mobo.

Based on some experienced users said gigabyte and msi are better than asrock and asus in terms of ram compatibility issue, i'm still suffering cold boot issue eventhough bios has upgraded to agesa 1006 beta version.

adding more money for ram to solve the issue really isn't a good solution, hope their next update can fix and ASAP!!

Thinking of upgrading my rig from the 4 (or is it 5?) year old Sandy Bridge Intel i5 (LGA1155)

Ryzen 5 1600
GA-AB350-Gaming
GSkill Flare X 2x 8GB DDR 2400mhz (15-15-15-39)
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB m.2

Reusing back my Asus 970 GTX, 750w PSU Silverstone Strider Gold, and 3 (or 4) SATA WD Green HDD, as well as my First Gen CoolerMaster Cosmos Full tower.

I think I am slapped around roughly RM2.6k for all 4 components.

Is it a fair spec?

Topping up to Ryzen 7 is like, needing to up anpother RM500 LOL.

Abit out of budget.

Especially I'm not sure how long my PSU can go since it is approaching 5 years old as well.

Definitely BIOS got some issue. I was using latest for my mobo and cant boot with OC RAM at all. Then downgraded back. It works at 2400 now.

I m currently using AMD AB350 gaming 3. Bios is at F6. Is it essential for me to update my Bios to f7? Else if not needed, I would prefer not to touch it.

Another question , how do I check my ram speed ?
