QUOTE(k!nex @ Mar 18 2017, 02:27 PM) This is actually designed more towards a workstation cpu though. If its a gaming cpu , core count is less important than lower cache latency and higher clock speed But since future games have high possibility to go multithreading, ryzen will be rise and shine in the gaming industry. I have noticed that AMD has a very broad scope which actually take account of the future. |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Jul 1 2017, 04:53 PM) but it's for "enterprise-class computing" though, especially the AES128 encryption built-in for data protection |

QUOTE(sonyfanzz @ Jul 2 2017, 12:11 PM) I still in dilemma choosing between ryzen and intel since 7700k an 1700 price almost the same now. ryzen 7 may improve, since amd has a longer vision, as in they can perceive how the software in the future will work. games will possibly move to multi-threaded which makes ryzen 7 to be powerful. look at their asynchronous computing strategy which was done years ago, and now being used on DX12 and Vulkan.I only play game and 7700k is the best cpu for gaming now. Not sure how ryzen 7 will improve over time |

apparently the all-core overclocking part for 3900x is rather underwhelming? it's still lacking behind in gaming benchmarks, but totally ripped 9900K apart in productions and daily tasks.

anyone can tell me what's 3900x temp while idling? i've heard some people over reddit complaining about heat spikes up to 60-70 celsius.

anyone bought anything from newegg before? i'm eyeing on this: https://www.newegg.com/global/my-en/g-skill...N82E16820232859
it's the only place i can find a CL16 G.Skill 3600 RAM for ryzen. I wonder what's the actual shipping costs and duty taxes if shit happens. This post has been edited by lolzcalvin: Dec 9 2019, 11:54 PM |

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Dec 10 2019, 01:20 AM) what are the odds a 3600 C18 being sold by various malaysia sellers can tweak the timings to C16 and sub-timings something close to what a C16 RAM will have, when their voltage is already 1.35V on C18? still a lottery right? |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 10 2019, 11:34 AM) Depends on model. i see. in this case since i'm eyeing g.skill trident z neo, while most if not all malaysia sellers selling 18-22-22-42, there is a chance it can do 16-16-16-36? what other b-die RAMs do you recommend for ryzen with such overclocking potential?I have 3600 CL18 that does 3733 CL16, I have 3600 CL18 that does 3800 CL16 with much tighter timings. The one that goes tighter timings however costs A LOT. |
