ya NZXT H510 non-elite, it doesn't have fans on the front panel.
I just reapply thermal paste and reassemble the CPU cooler, it seems to get better now idle at 45C.
Running Aida64 will bring it to around 60C which I think is good.
But it is based on stock clock speed without boost at 3.6GHz.
Once I enable the PBO, the temp can easily hit 100C.
I read this case have opening at front panel for air to go in and there's 2 fan slots at inside front, you can add 2 fans there to improve the airflow a bit. If the front panel can be removed and replace with mesh or filter then can improve the airflow a lot.
wouldn't be surprised if some B450 and X470 end up getting support anyways.
note that B350 and even X370 were not supposed to receive support for Zen2 based CPU's. And just look at what happened. X370 got hardly any board without support, even B350 got some boards with (beta) support.
With B550 a month away I wouldn't buy B450 now if I had Zen3 in mind for future, but having a board already I don't think one should panic and upgrade. Especially for those with X470 or even B450 Max boards.
If follow AMD, every motherboard model only support 2 generations. Really not worth it to buy expensive motherboard considering it's short life support.
Hi everyone, I just bought a new system as my old motherboard suddenly died. I got: - Ryzen 3700x - Asus ROG x570 Strix E - Kingston HyperX Predator 32GB 3200MHz CL16 (HX432C16PB3AK2/32)
I'm still waiting for the RAM kit to arrive so I'm wondering if it can easily clocked to 3600MHz. It should be Hynix CJR. I couldn't find Micron E Die in the market now. Samsung b-die are just too expensive.
Ryzen 3000 series are more easier for RAM mhz overclock, unlike the previous generation. Cheaper RAM harder to maintain same or lower CAS latency though. You wanted to compare higher mhz but higher CAS vs lower mhz but lower CAS to see which one give you better performance.
got money buy 3950X, dont have money for at least X470 or B450 motherboard? Like buying Ferarri, but use 2nd hand tire. each time punctured, must patch, not change tyre
Motherboard not so straight cut. Some X470 but performance is worse than some B450 because it's VRM or some components is not good.
I have a very weird problem, I am using Ryzen 5 3600 on tomahawk, my Gpu is Zotac 1070 Ti non AMP (I can't find it on zotac website), my gpu comes with 2 fan, one of the fan acting weird by spinning to the max occasionally even though during idle, it can goes for several minutes causing very irritating noise. I can't seems to control that particular fan with Firestorm though.
At the end I have to disconnect the fan and leave only one fan operational.
Check if it's really idle or there's something that using the GPU to compute. Trojan or malware these days more on mining coin than wreck havoc on your computer.
If the only heavy workload the PC going to be used for is gaming and none like video encoding or any CPU intensive programs, it's better to get 3300X instead of 10900K and use the remaining money for better GPU.
since ps5 is coming by the end of the year , is the 6c/12t ryzen 3600 still relevant if im building a rig just for gaming ( with let say media player/google chromes tab on the background) , or its just safer to go 3700x since ps5 will have 8cores/12t , i want to stay with this rig for like 5 years atleast but also on tight budjet.
I don't think you can just compare cores/treads count directly like that. PS5 supposed to be game changer because the way it implement it's SSD as cache for VRAM. So there's possibility PC side will see some changes in newer GPU or CPU or MOBO to keep up with PS5 performance. Your rig will be obsolete when such changes happen.
Hi guys...I'm a new amd ryzen user coming from intel platform. I already changed my cpu and mobo to ryzen 3 3100 with gigabyte b450m-s2h (latest bios). Reformatted my hdd and installed windows 10 64bit v2004. But I got random BSODs (Memory_Management error). Is it because my pair of old rams KLEVV fit4 4GB 2400MHz DDR4 are not compatible with my new mobo? I already loaded the XPM profile and also default profile but the BSODs persist.
Also can use TestMem 5 to check the memory. Need to run as Admin
Hi TristanX, just to update. I've changed the SATA cables, no dice.
Thing still "hangs" intermittently.
Your Windows installed on Transcend SSD370 128GB SSD? How many years you been using it? Might want to try on your other SSD to rule out issue is not because of this SSD. Also can try disable Virtual Memory first to see if can eliminate the hangs.
i kinda new to AMD and being awhile with Intel. i planing to upgrade my system to Ryzen 5 3600 and B450 mobo.. recently, AMD release 4000 series which using the same Zen 2 architecture which come with GPU. 4000 series has lower cache, clock speed and 3rd Gen PCie. i guess Ryzen 3600 will better choice compare to ryzen 5 4650.
my question :- 1. when will AMD expecting to release 4600 series which is next gen of 3600 series with new Gen 3 architecture? 2. will AMD B450 mobo able to support new Gen 3 architecture CPU
Ryzen 5 4650 is laptop CPU. You can't compare that to Ryzen 5 3600. Rumor has it that desktop 4000 series might be announced on Sept. AMD announce B450 will support 4000 series but there will be limitation. https://www.anandtech.com/show/15807/amd-to...70-motherboards If you don't want to run into any issue with 4000 series then better get B550 board.
lol. didnt know R5 4650 for laptop cos people compare it side by side
Oh sorry i was looking at 4650U which is laptop, these few days the one that mentioned is 4650G which is for desktop, but it's with iGPU. More to compare with 3200G or 3400G
68-78c🙀 maxed out in prime95? Wow yr corsair aio really cooling down yr R9. Plan to get a better aio. My Idcooling frostflow x is kinda 👎 push pull config also can get the temp down.
You already set fan and pump speed to max when reach certain temp? Your AIO put at front or top? Top might cause less efficient cooling as heat in the case will go through AIO. I'm using CM 240 AIO to cool down 2700X, AIO put at front. Max temp about 74c when full load max performance.
so when 5600x available in malaysia? is ok go for 5600x + GTX 3070 only? gonna upgrade my super old i5 4th lol.........
If you play 1440p or above, even 3600x is enough for RTX 3080. If 1080p, CPU limited by about 10%, but the fps it can produce might be more than what your monitor support.
Pretty much that, I tested with RTX 2080 Super and the 3600 even on stock does really well.
Ya, although latest GPU performance have increase but it still not enough to bottleneck CPU from past few years.

just using AOC agon 31.5 inc monitor with 1080p not planning upgrade this anytime soon....
If you mostly for gaming, get good enough CPU is adequate and spend more for GPU. Judging from RTX 3080 benchmark, RTX 3070 might not be able to push 144fps on some games.
