1. AMD cheapo Ryzen 3 can beat Intel Core i7 and i5 in gaming already publicity to pee on Intel 10th Gen
2. Technically AMD does not support 3950X on X470 chipset also, but I see almost all boards released has the CPU on support list
3. probably someone asked, so they explained. No need play U turn card, since even X370 can support up to Zen2 R7-3000 as of now depending on manufacturer.
*
As much as how much I'm surprised with the performance of Ryzen 3, low end parts will never gets the same amount of publicity of high-end Intel part outside of the tech enthusiast. It is good news for the manufacture to have the choice to support, and when to support. I'm guessing 6 months after Zen 3 release, so early adopters will have to get the X570 and B550 motherboards.

Guys what's the viable ryzen upgrade form 15-6600k skylake? im looking at ryzen 7 3700x,
i only use it for gaming or maybe premier pro editing in the future,
is it too overkill, or ryzen 5 3600x is going to get the job done
*
I vote for the 3600 at least since you are not going to edit video today. Many new games are taking advantage of 8 threads and you will feel less stuttering with the 3600 than the 4C4T i5. Ironically unlike what EBBattlefield said, both Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V plays much smoother on 8 thread compared to 4 thread i5.

Most reviewer said the X isn't worth the money for slight speed bump.

Or AMD just wanted some more cheap publicity be it a lil' negative because Intel launches 10th gen + chipset but AMD only launch a low end Zen 2 CPU. Later they also play the U-turn game and support Zen 3 on B450, and many people will be thankful.
*
Okay I thought they will U-turn AFTER Ryzen 4000 is available in stores, this is earlier than expected. I'm still putting my chip that the new BIOS will only be out few months after new CPU are available. They need to let mobo maker sells stuff to those early adopters.

I'm also waiting for manufacture to put in Ryzen into their high end thin and light laptop chassis, and gaming laptop with 2070.

I don't think the 3900X price will be adjusted here like in the US right?

Ryzen mobile CPU and 5600M come to Dell G5 laptops in the US. For USD $1050 you get:
Ryzen 4600H 6c/12t
16GB RAM
256GB NVME SSD
RX 5600M
15" 1080p 144Hz VA Panel

The i7-10750H and RTX2060 alternative in Malaysia cost RM6k.

Wow, I thought mine is old i7 3770 (Ivy Bridge), your's older. My rig still runs OK with GTX 1080 gaming 1440p but some games like Assassin's Creed Origins, drops 50 ish FPS doh.gif . I wonder if upgrade to Ryzen 5 3600 will improve in performance.
*
Maybe 15 fps faster at Ultra... That game is GPU heavy.

Not forgetting a large group of PC gamer playing competitive FPS who will set the graphics visual as low as possible to get the max frame rate for their monitor and easy target spotting.

This is quite different from the "heavy" PS5 games which will crank their visual up just as much as they can and still maintain 60fps on 4k resolution.

My 2700X on Asus X470-i is over-reporting 124%
Which manufacture is under reporting again? MSI and Gigabyte?

B550 and X570 price to high for me. thats why change plan to b450+3700x.
and im not always upgrade my hardware.
*
Good idea too, next upgrade will be DDR5, which the expensive X570 and B550 can't use anyway.

1st Intel
2nd AMD

Never trust a brand that not proven by many unless the 1st unavailable. Just wasted money, if many issues kick-in.
*
The Intel thread needs your input there~ it's so lonely and quiet, even after the 10th gen launched, which is unbelievable since the i5-10400 price is so competitive!

hye anyone using 3700x with stock cooler can share me the temp for idle and gaming.
just install this morning and while looking around for driver and setup everything, the max temp reach 70c [hwinfo, CPU Tctl/Tdie)]. but most time around 50-55cc. is this normal?
*
My 2700X with NH-C14 cooler is 84c (Tdie) and 94c (Tctl) while exporting video rolleyes.gif That's with PBO (PE Level 2)

Absolutely loving B550 boards!

Seem like they are the only one currently selling both ITX version of B550 and B450. All the MSI B450i have been sold out!

the 2 digit code will blank out when everything is normal right? if not it's such an eye-sore for those nice RGB built.

Just upgrade my rig to 3700X, Kleev Bolt DDR4 3200 and Asrock B450M Steel Legend.

My old rig, 2400G with DDR4-2400 (no DOCP) and Asus A320M-K.

Reusing the same RTX2060 but the gaming performance is different by day and night sweat.gif

Which game did you see a lot of difference? When I upgrade from Ivy Bridge i5 to 2700X, Battlefield see the most improvements.

About what the RTX 3000 series is doing with SSD, does the X570 PCIE 4.0 will have an edge over B550's implementation? I know it is WAY too early to ask, but maybe some of you got any idea.

Can I expect Zen 2 prices to drop when AMD announces their Zen 3 lineup?

Yes, that's what happen to all the previous series. Expect the 3600 to drop to 3300X price.

We're near the end of 2020, and with it goes AMD's earlier promise to support AM4 (till at least 2020). I guess we are possibly looking at the last gen of Ryzen for AM4 then? Is it still wise to spend a lot on new X570 when you know there might not be anything new coming after that?
*
I'll opt for a B450 too unless the B550 is only RM100 price premium while having the same feature (Wifi, ALC1220 etc). Same as you, I don't think I'll need PCIE4 any time soon, and probably will replace the whole motherboard by the time I need it.

i5-10600KF $240
5600X $300
i7-10700KF $350
5800X $450

Intel is cheap!

Honestly Zen 3 currently doesn't look like replacement for Zen 2. Not until they release similarly priced 5600 and 5700 like current Zen 2. So if you want more performance, just pay more.

The 5600X and 5800X will be interesting because I assume all their cores will be in the same CCX.
