Why do try the CHIPSI plus Green Apple for bedding.

I used this about 1/2 years, no smell and hamster like it.

I changes this also because of the smell.

At starting, the smell was horrible(in put in my dinning).

My mother complain me on the smell.

So I decide to changes the bedding.

At last I found this CHIPSI plus Green Apple.

No more smell, mom not more make noise.

Gerbil also can used this CHIPSI plus Green Apple as bedding

CHipssi Green Apple is ok lah, but some claimed that those scented bedding r not good to rodents' breathing system. But still many ppl r using them without any problem, so dunno lah...........

my small bubuye just gave birth(hey did i use a right word??) last nite at 7.30 pm!!!!!!!!!!!!5 babies!!!!!!!!!!!! what should i do?? i oredy put the big bubuye(haha. .at last i know which one is the female and which one is the male one)on the other cage because one of my fren used to told me to seperate them..uu..but last nite the big bubuye escape and you know whe did he go? he just sleep beside the cage where the small bubuye and his's babies is..actually when the small bubuye delivering..the big bubuye did stay beside her...ala- ala pegang tgn gitu..i x sengaja tertengok maa..haiyaa...i was so scared laa..please..need help..i used to hear that hamster oso sometimes eat their babies!!!!!!!!!please...help...this morning i just put some more food(that why i know ada 5 ekor baby!) and water for the mom..then i did cover the cage with some kain ...izit ok???

juz wondering, which one do u like the most... RC or WW...?

oh....congrats....better put the big bubuye at another cage. Although the big one will help the small to take care of the babies, but the big once will actually XXX the small one rite away after the small gave birth, so not good for her to pregnant again loh......
Just leave the small one with her babies for 2 weeks before changing the bedding. Give many many food and water, dun kacau, dun bising....thats all hehe..........

NO BISING??..haiyaa..my room quite bising2 maa..bunyi tren lar..haiyaa...so takut to move the cage...i just put there laa..haiya..still can XXX after giving birth..whoa...i just put the food beside the mom because the mom cannot move je..the babies always crying lar..what should i give her to eat..usual food izit ok??

Usual food is ok, plus can give some scramble eggs(no oil), boiled chicken meat(no oil no kicap!!), some cats kibble........xtra protein!!!

scramble egg??including the yellow part ke?she can have it?so i just rebus lar..rite? so , izit ok for me to masukkan my hand to the cage just for put the food inside?no harm rite?she would not feel strees kan?kan?can i give her some apple??

Hard-boiled egg without the yolk, its ok to put your hand inside the cage to refill the food but better dont let her notice so that she will not get stressed.

Eh... dun simply accuse.. You disturb his beauty sleep sure he bite lo... And he's kinda picky.. Don't like strangers to touch him... I wonder why

haiya..how laa to make her did not noticed it..even to open the cage oso will make her noticed me..

Just throw and aim at the bowl... LOL..

its ok althought she notice u, just open the lid, take the bowl up, clea it, put some food in, the put back, close the lid.......dun worry too much.

what is DTW??

I always hear ppl complaining saying that hteir hamsters stink. But so far, i've neva come across this problem. I have 2 syrians and 2 robo in my room and i change thier bedding twice in 3 weeks. No smell at all wor I use chipsi classic.

I've tried chipsi plus apple before. It's not much use. Apparently IMO, when the pee smell+apple scent, the smell is worse.. aiks.. BC still the best although expensive. Safe to use as well because it's basically just processed paper.

What breed is your hamster? I've read MANY forums and guides saying for some dwarfs like RC, you can leave the male in together as it will help raise the pups. Not sure how true though.. I nvr let my hamster breed so far.

DTW= Dark Tailed White. The gerbil is totally white.. but if the temperature is right, after 5/6 months when fully adult, the tail will become dark colour..

How do you know if your hamster likes it? Did they tell you they enjoy being on Chipsi apple? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but seriously, don't put human feelings in animals. The only thing we can do is give them the best, and chipsi apple is not one of them.


Chipsi uses softwood which is the type of wood that carries the harmful chemicals known as phenols. When the bedding is scented, you won't be able to smell how strong the phenols are and the perfume that they use is also artificial, also not good for our pets. The company is only producing bedding to help gain interest in buyers by adding extra stuff, but it's not beneficial at all to our hammies.

Phenols damage ultimately the lungs and liver. Damaging the liver may also cause harm to other areas to the body as it's one of the most important organs.

If you find it hard to imagine, try soaking a cloth with disinfectant and tie it over your mouth and nose everyday for the whole day(This is an example, please do not actually do this as it may induce poisoning). This is what your pet is going through when they are housed on pine or cedar.

DTW is Dark Tailed White. Basically a white gerbil with a darkish brown tail.

Do you spot clean the cage? If you do, it reduces the smell a lot because syrians pee in one place. Spot cleaning that place everyday will help and the bedding will last longer. Changing 2 times every3 weeks is quite regular, so no problem there.



Yes, usually the male campbell will help the female to raise they young. Robo males also do this.

Any bedding that is scented is a no no for rodents.... lemon, apple... ai, not good. Like what Reanne said.... the phenols and chemicals in the bedding can harm the hamster. This is why majority of hamster keepers these days use wood pellets, recycled paper cat litter and corn cob. Chipsi Super is quite ok since it uses Beech wood which is safer than softwood... but it still smells strange to me...

There is no way you can avoid the mom from cannibalizing the babies. Sometimes the pup died for nothing so naturally the mom would eat the body to clean up the cage.... or maybe the pup born cacat? Then the mom would end its life....

Just leave her alone. I would say never place the male back since the male will automatically breed with her again. It may sound nice where the male got teman the female blah blah.... but we must think of the outcome later.

Leave extra food, feed mealworms. Scrambled eggs is better. The yolk has nutrition while the egg white is high in protein.

Cover the cage, place in a quite place that has no direct sun light. Keep the water bottle full and food bowl full with the normal hamster food. That is enough. Only begin to touch the mom and babies when already 2 weeks old.

If between those 2 dwarf... i like WW coz they look like they are wearing shoes LOL.... got thick padded feet. Campbells and Syrians got mousy feet.

Robos cute but not handle friendly.... So this is why I do not like.

Among the three.... WW lah... but I like Syrian also since their personality and size is good to handle.

Maybe your hamsters do not drink enough water.... coz when hamsters drink lots of water, they pee more and smell more.

Yes, the RC male will help to take care of the babies.... well, from what I have seen, the male will never be aggressive towards his own pups and will sometimes sleep with them or eat with them. Robos do that too. Aiyah, almost all dwarf species make good mom and dads.... but its just that if we put them together, sure will have pups very often.
