QUOTE(arraille @ Feb 28 2007, 03:31 PM) doesn't really matter actually, as long as the place is clean and comfortable and got 'place' to hide it would be juz fine... maybe some of us don't have time to build wood-hut or buy it... so, anything that practical is ok... in fact, few of my syrians's hide-places are pvc pipe joint (L & T shape)... I still prefer aroma burner....just RM5.....But at that time when I'm broke, i just go buy a big ceramic cup, cheapest can get RM0.99, haha...........still can be a good hide house for them. |

QUOTE(Reanne @ Mar 2 2007, 12:39 AM) Iceberg lettuce is actually very bad to be fed to hams. Er....i think ur statement regarding soaking vege in salt water is wrong........ (no offence)About the soaking in water, it's a method to help remove most, if not all the traces of pesticides. The salt will form free radicals in the solution which attracts the pesticide chemicals. So, soak the veggie completely in water, then add some salt and leave it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the veggie and wash it again. It'll be quite clean already. Another method is as Hun stated, get the holey veggies from pasar malam. LOL Actually, by soaking veges in salt water will actually lead to pesticide clotting. A lot of ppl thought that by soaking them into salt water, the pesticide can be washed out easily. The actual fact is that, it will help the pesticide to bond on the vege even harder. The best way is to wash the vege with the pesticide detergent thingy. Another way is by washing them with flowing water. Meaning on the tap, let the water flush on the vege for some time. THis method waste water loh..... Soaking the vege in the water will not help much. Any corrections?? |

Re Syrian : regarding the ous thing.....I din get that on my hamsters, so really dunno how to deal wif it. Since the pus is in the nose hole, u cant do much, cant apply any medicine. The best way is bring it to the vet loh................
R u using wire cage or tank? I think ur hamster got hurt while biting the wire cage, or mayb becoz of the bedding, sensitive nose loh...... So the best thing is change to a tank, try change the bedding also, see got improvement or not. As long as its eating and playing actively, then its ok. If u notice that he is weak, lazy, not eating much, bring to vet loh... This post has been edited by joanalooidog: Mar 9 2007, 09:24 AM |

actually hamster r fine to be kept alone, no food and fighting problem.
Just that the owner feels a bit boring looking at a single hamster in the cage, so thats some owners keep 2 or more in a single tank..... But 1 should be fine also. |

QUOTE(Gazard7 @ Mar 10 2007, 11:08 AM) Mushroom / Yellow Blue hamster? Never heard b4, so strange one, blue? haha.........rolling the wheel from bottom The way PetsWonderland treats the pets is really disappointing, they are just running the business for pure profit. They never think about their social responsibility to promote caring of pets /animals, thus it is banned, I will never buy anything from them. Added on March 10, 2007, 12:07 pmHi guys, have a look at my video featuring Kimichi doing a stunt. Haha, don't u think he is so Pandai? http://whatthepets.blogspot.com/2007/03/ha...or-running.html |

QUOTE(Syrian @ Mar 13 2007, 12:01 AM) Oooo .. I'll check out the shop at SK some other time. Still dun really have the mood to get a new one yet but will get one gradually. I miss him so much - he's such a sweetie. Let u guys noe the pricing after i go THe petshop at sri kembangan do sells syrian, RM12 each. And WW is RM18 each, if buy two can bargain until RM30 a pair. Yes, the things' there are priced slightly higher, but can be bargained. I also visit that shop and bargain one, ahahaha...... as those like Pet's Family, Pet's Safari or ....... were located too far from Bkt Jalil...........But honestly speaking, the syrians there are quite old i think, only a few of them are young, but the WW are still ok. Last nite I visit there also, saw that their WW are almos sold out, the left over one...better dun buy lah.... Anyway, do pay the shop a visit and see for yourself lah. And the auntie which jaga the shop one, is not the owner, and she just quit her job last week..... This post has been edited by joanalooidog: Mar 13 2007, 08:33 AM |

QUOTE(Syrian @ Mar 13 2007, 04:20 PM) Cyberjaya ... too far away to go to Ikano. So, I hardly go unless if i had to, then I'll go. If nothing special, then I won't go - too far away. Btwn, how much is prestige?? I think I'll get prestige once they finish this pack of delikate. The petshop at SK only sells Delikate and Habitrail. I personally prefer Habitrail coz it has less coloring. If u feed ur hamster wif delikate, u'll notice that they left the colorful biscuit out.........Do post some pics on ur syrian lah....... |

QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Mar 15 2007, 04:36 AM) hahaha .. true true ..my niece wanna spend alot for the hamster playthings. so i just let her la. never want to listen to uncle .. walao, this is nice man, neat, spacious..........cool.btw, this is my first time with WW. i did breed Syrian 7 years ago. but it seem i already forgot a lot of things about hamsters. old alreadyy .. wahkakaka... this is my DIY cage. it is still under constuction. only the penthouse and 3rd floor have floor for the bedding. didn't have time to make another two. so since it's a DIY and with my lousy Kemahiran Hidup skills, it's not perfect, it doesn't look good but good enough to keep the WW inside. and running in the wheel all morning ( 1am till now). i can hear the wheel spin .. ![]() But how do u cater for the bedding? they will kick them out rite?? |
