Hello fellow Unifi users,

I am currently using the 30mbps package and am currently awaiting the free 50mbps upgrade soon.

I am a gamer and I use Steam, so my question is, is getting a max download speed of 3mbps normal for my package?

Thank you in advance!
*
1 Byte = 8 bits

thus

30Mbps (megabits per second) = 3.75 MBps (megabytes per second)
*notice the caps on the 'b', where uppercase is bytes and lowercase is bits.

If no more warranty, u got 2 option:
1. Pay for the new devices
2. Renew contract for another 2 years

P/s: extra rm50 will be included in bill since technicians need to come to ur house

just checking...

when i dl "T" nowadays after installing 30 Mbps...single "T" dl speed can reach 1 mb/s, however when dl few "T" the dl speed can reach 2-3 mb/s in total. Does that mean when dl single "T", my speed is capped by unifi ?

mb= milli bit. That's even slower than dial up tongue.gif
MB= Mega Byte. That's how you suppose to use the unit correctly.
Unifi doesn't cap torrent speed though. It really depends how fast is the seeders internet connection, number of seeders, seeders to leechers ratio.

i see...

the number of seeders quite high but maybe due to location far far away i guess

i'm considering getting an Asus UHP router to replace the "rubbish can" DIR850L, it just doesnt hit the lower limit of the 30mbps rated speed (well, it reaches 97% of the speed but not at the minimum 30), and the AC penetration rate on the 2nd flr is relatively weak at 1 bar or 2 on my note 4

will a high gain Asus router help in my scenario? at least maybe the AC penetration power

Using a WiFi repeater will be more effective to expand the wifi coverage.
