QUOTE(zeroendless @ Jun 6 2017, 08:35 AM) The new iMac Pro is sick, can't imagine what the new Mac pro would be. I would say they going drop the whole Mac Pro line (silently), just like mac mini. iMac Pro is the new "mac pro line" and the game changing is the eGPU part. So every mac product can be a 'gaming machine' enough said (provided equip with thunderbolt3 )

Actually both the MAC pro or iMac pro are really for Super niche group of users. Typical applications do not really take advantage of the no of processors and the GPU. I once watched a review before even the 2016 iMac can beat the much more expensive MAC pro for a lot of common tasks.

I disagree. I'd get a MacPro for its expandability. Also to run multiple monitors. I'm aware that the iMac can run multiple monitors but... Apple doesn't make a standalone 27in display. Are you supposed to run mismatched displays? Seriously?

Apple doesn't make a standalone 27in display. Are you supposed to run mismatched displays? Seriously? iMac comes with thunderbolt 3 ports so nothing is impossible. And it is not only can run one either. If one realises how much a cost for a 4K or 5k monitors, they would appreciate all in 1 iMac. This post has been edited by westlife: Jun 6 2017, 05:57 PM

I once watched a review before even the 2016 iMac can beat the much more expensive MAC pro for a lot of common tasks. Not too fast. Back in April, Apple put together an unprecedented product pre-announcement to tech journalist and unveiled a refresh of Mac Pro with modular design later this year. On the same event, they hinted the Now, formally announced iMac Pro. That says, they got bigger plan for the Mac Pro. if the iMac Pro already this slick.... i can't imagine what they got under the sleeve for the upcoming Mac pro. It has to be huge! Ya, that's what I read too. The current Mac Pro is over designed anyway. It's nice but if it needs 1-2 high end video card, it is not good. Apple still needs a very powerful desktop class to be relevant even if it is only for the super users. They need it prior to the iPhone and with the huge revenues from iphone makes no sense to not maintain this market segment ever.

Basically it goes up RM400-600. Though a new base model of 128GB priced lower than original 256 GB base model by 300-400. Well.... this is simply too small for any "pro". So would u take the old model( if it is still available)? Or pay bit more for the speed bump

So technically it is not a concern to majority of ppl.

QUOTE(Clueless07 @ Jun 8 2017, 09:58 AM) Got discount? Then I am screwed lol. Just got it a month ago i went pass few apple authorized dealers, no one is selling any discounted macbook for earlier version. so u should be ok. this round is a bit difference, which i dun see discounted old macbook selling even with the new one announced. previously when 2016 12-inch macbook announced, the authorized dealer is giving some discount to the 2015 models. this round it seems like apple has planned ahead to minimize the stock level for old models way beforehand that they do not even need to discount to clear any old stocks.
