My custom 2017 Macbook pro 13" TB, bought in 2017, started exhibiting keyboard issues late last year but I ignored it until recently when it was unbearable; multiple occasional double input keys (N C B D V) and stuck keys (F and left command).

Read rave reviews about the repair service at Avenue K KL and chose to take my laptop there even though there are closer AASPs near me.

Wed 2nd Oct (4pm)
Walk-in appointment and was told it would take 10 to 14 working days with bulk of the days spent waiting for the replacement parts ordered.
I inquired about the possibility of taking the laptop after diagnosis and bringing it back once the parts had arrived and to my surprise they entertained it.

Sat 5th Oct (12pm)
I was told they had ordered the replacement parts and I could pick up the laptop as requested. ETA 7 days for the parts to arrive.

Wed 9th Oct (7pm)
The parts had arrived and I should drop off the laptop at my earliest convenience; dropped it off the next day Thu 10th Oct (1pm)

Fri 11th Oct (8pm)
The laptop was ready for collection.
I passed by the next day and was pleasantly surprised that the laptop was as good as new. Not only had they changed the top assembly that includes the keyboard, battery, and USB ports but they had also replaced the bottom assembly and display too.

A++ service from them. rclxms.gif

Minor complaint...I have to order replacement dBrand skins tongue.gif

If I plan to get a used macbook pro, which one is better?

The Macbook Pro 13 2015 i5 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD or

The Macbook Pro 15 2014 i7 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD with 2GB Dual Graphic?

How much budget you have? I think it's important to know your use case before recommending one model over the another

Guess not so much on video editing and stuff like that. More towards typical office work.
Budget: RM5,000 max. Hoping for a bigger storage.

I would certainly recommend going for the MacBook Pro 15" instead.

You will notice a significant performance difference as the i7 is Quad Core, versus the i5 Dual Core on the MacBook Pro 13"

Remember to check the Battery Cycle Count in System Report. If there are too many cycles already, you may need to get the battery changed pretty soon.

since your budget already 5000 I would ask you to stretch your budget a bit and get a RM6199 MacBook Pro 13 2018 for your use. A 2018 MacBook Pro 13 blows both the 2014 and 2015 out of the water because it has quad core processors, it supports the newest features of Catalina such as using an iPad as an additional screen(Sidecar), faster flash storage and ram.
This would make the usability of your laptop significantly longer.
Unless you can get one of the two models you listed under the price 2000... if I don’t I don’t think it’s a worthwhile investment.

No problem. There is an ongoing offer on Lazada for a 2018 MacBook Pro 13 inch with 512GB storage now, I would recommend you to take a look at the model and decide whether you want to splurge and get that because it is a really good machine for the price
