So today was a hot day. Some whatsapp members posted 40°C @ ~1PM on their driver panel info screen.

I parked half shaded and with cheapo 3M horizon+ RM1,700 shit.
With 2x rear windows 1 inch /2 cm down.

44.4°C at boot. GL hybrid batteries. Hope it can live a long life.  rclxms.gif

hi all sifu/masta here....i'm a proud owner of Jazz V spec for 1.5 months. Did my 1k service and apparently nothing was change..they just check2 see2 look2...ask to come back 5 mth later/10k km.

You see its 1.5 month and i'm only clocking 1.3k km only. By looking at it i might only hit 6k km and its adi 6 month old..hahaha...so then i'm planning another trip to Alor Setar and Penang on the Jazz so clock more km.

Since the Jazz engine oil & etc all still from factory. Any advice for long distance trip. Yes, i've been reading quite a bit before posting. Like those no no thingy, no hard accel, no cruise control, no static at a particular speed.

I actually have brought it back to Alor Setar when it was only 200km...i drove below 100km/h most the time and variable speed between 75-95km/h. Any advice would be good smile.gif

As for the car the only complain i got is i think the Goodyear Excellence tyre a bit noisy on certain road/tarmac. other than that its definately better ride that all my previous national car, so much stable when cornering, fc as good as my kelisa if not better and the looks is awesome and handsome.

High profile, inevitable that you will see some bulge. Unless crazy tire pressures.

I am on 38f 36r 205/45/17. Bumpy as hell. Sidewall not stiff enough and keep getting some sidewall rollover.
I think you should check with the dealerships instead as they might have more to offer on top of official offerings

Can't really make sense of the graph without having to be able to look at stuff like throttle position.

I guess it will have to wait until the 8 speed torque converter based dual clutch to be launched in order to solve this problem.
Isn't fog light H11?
I am sure Honda takes into account the operating temperatures of the batteries especially in hot climate countries.

Furthermore, there would be a lot more heat from the twin loop muffler sitting so close to the batteries that might overwhelm it compared to environment heat.

RE: Graph pedal input
Version 2 of the graph will have pedal %.
Already started recording but, traffic has been smoother and couldn't force that jerky scenario; keep timing it wrongly since having the OBDII readout... started to subconsciously try to prevent the jerk from happening... graphs will be delayed.

RE: Muffler heat
Ahhh but the engine is shut off 50% of the time, and RPMs hover around 1200 to 2000 max.
During driving, temperature drops to about 37~39 at the boot without A/C, compared to 43°C (today) when parked.

Speaking of battery and heat... I've experienced twice the engine randomly turning on during jams. Battery was charged and coolant temp was safe zone 80+, probably the battery+electronics shitting itself from the heat and making the engine work. Guess I'll start AC during bad jams eventhough it's counterproductive for the FC.

Aaaand it happened. It jerked. Again.

Here's some data regarding one instance of the juddering felt by hybrid i-DCD owners.

I was just driving along with with battery filled but engine was on and cruising along slowly when suddenly... wham. Jerk.
This time there's video but it's not clearly visible because the dashcam is mounted on the windscreen and coupled with the chassis.

In the chart, the acceleration sensor is magnified 1000x to show when it jerks, and relatively how intense the jerk is.
The accel sensor is taken from a phone inserted in its dock which is NOT coupled to the car. Closest reference would be... like smart tag just throw on the dashboard freely / no support, can slide.
The phone dock thing for reference,

Video to synchronise with chart. (cant see much even with fullscreen)

If you count the bars between the jolt and the sharp deceleration, that's 5 bars or equivalent to 3.5 seconds for it to jolt, then resolve itself.
That's 3.5 seconds of input loss from the user while it's doing god knows what with the gears.

Extra stuff while recording... some data about EV -> Engine start.

Look at the black lines. Black lines indicate bumpiness or motion.

Welcome rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Later you change new tyre to Michelin Pilot Sport 3 or Advan Fleva V701

Both very good tyre in term of grips and wet road thumbup.gif and also can upgrade more wider from 185 to 195.

Is S spec worth the price or should I go for E spec?
Is there any significant differences?

Please bear with me as I dont know anything about cars

hi Strobe,

Differences of S & E spec (both facelifted version)

1) S-spec got no Day-Running Light (accessories, can install aftermarket but might void warranty on wiring)
2) S-spec air-Cond manually control by knob (some people prefer knob type)
3) S-spec got no steering wheel audio and phone-answering control (E-spec is more handy)
4) S-spec is just standard audio ICE with no reverse camera (E-spec is touch screen with reverse camera)
5) S-spec got no center console armrest (you can always buy aftermarket)
6) very IMPORTANT, S-spec does not equip with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), HSA (Hill-Start Assist) and ESS (Emerygency Stop Signal)
7) S-spec equip with 2 front airbags (E-spec got another 2 side airbags)
8) price difference of roughly RM6000

honda models all doing promo and huge discount is given. Do compare with few SA/showrooms. Make sure you have a good deal.
Price of E-spec after discounted is most probably cheaper than S-spec's RRP.

I got Jazz V spec 2016 before FL, there is no eco mode button. But there is green line indicator that shows you drive within eco mode.

With that only it is really save the fuel.

So I think the eco mode is not just a hype.

understood bro. However, i am a chill driver, not the kinda guy who accelerates like rockets, always on the green mode.

So, i made an experiment to see how does it different when using the eco mode vs not using it.

Usually when we fill our tank full (Rm78 - 25/10/17 price), we will normally gets 70KM before the fuel indicator meter goes down with one bar. but with eco mode on, i only manage to get 72KM.

hahaha okay, when i type this i thought as i am being super over expectation lol

For me the fuel efficiency that Jazz offer is good enough and really prove it as fuel efficient car. In this age where fuel price keep fluctuate, it is nice to have car that able to use every drop of fuel you pump into the car.

Though I not blame you on the expectation, we all have set of standard for expectation anyway icon_rolleyes.gif

If you're already chill driver, then it won't help much.
If you're transitioning from zoom zoom to chill then it'll help a lot.
From hybrid group, someone started with pure city drive at 15km/l, then 1 week later 18km/l then few weeks later reporting 20km/l.
Driving style saves more fuel than puny button tongue.gif
