My generation was the first Jazz to be CKD'ed. We were only given the normal 1 year warranty and only First 3 service labour free. Talk about the stinginess after having to wait 4 months for the delivery.

I am not a poster child for warranty as the car went through
~ 17-inch rim change, the 2nd day of taking delivery along with tinting at Raytech. It would be the 1st day if i did not take delivery of the car late in the evening. So late that the SA did not even bother to explain to me about the car stuff
~ another rim change 6 months down the road as i was waiting delivery of my Buddyclub P1SF
~ installed DVR, tapping internal compartment fuse box within 1st year
~ installed ultragauge, nothing special. Just plug to OBD port, but if they know what it could do like clearing error codes. They could raise some suspicion about it.
~ swap for some german maestro speakers front and back within 1st year
~ thrown stock steering out for aftermarket during airbag recall period
~ GAB SS can't remember when
~ slightly BBK upgrade kit can't remember when too
~ swapped driver seats, can't remember when too
~ swapped head unit, can't remember when too
~ revalved, change springs, revalved again, revalved again, and now leaking

I still managed to claim the aircond compressor toggle switch as it was turning on and off when going through bumpy roads during the 3rd service (6months). Told them on the 2nd service (3months) of the problem and they said they will claim which takes time and should do it during the next service or whichever comes first.

So, i don't know about warranty. But, i did what i did anyways. They noticed i did some stuff to it during warranty period but they never bothered to kacau also.

Wow..You're so brave rclxms.gif . Similar to my spouse -saying that this is our car so we can do whatever we want.

Thanks

Dampers are very preferential. There is no recommendation as they are mostly the same in terms of functional design.

It will at the end of the day come down to your budget and what you can afford. There are a couple of local brands around such as HWL, GAB, F Tuned, etc..

There are also offers such as height adjustment only via spring seats, one-way damping adjustment or some which are better built units offering damping adjustment together with height adjustment via body shift.

As i say, there are mostly the same in terms of functional design. Some might utilize a twin tube design and some might offer upright mono tube offerings. It is down to whether you can get it to perform the way you prefer it to.

Monotube and twintube designs also have their individual pros and cons. The setup itself is the most important thing as it is not an outright competition vehicle and you might need to find the delicate balance between performance and road comfort.

But, to be frank. All of the dampers are usually designed with pretty limited stroke and is not as optimal for hill roads as they might be for the track. Some might be too hardly sprung, some not having very good damping curves or some just downright skimp on using good seals and oils affecting the longevity and the performance or ride quality of the car in certain conditions.

There is no right answer is what i am implying here. If you can find other rides already installed with a certain brand. Ask to take it for a drive or ride to see if you like the setup. Then, get that and copy the setup as closely as possible.

Ahh i see. Thank you for your explanation rclxms.gif

So, I've been trying to see if I can record the juddering/jerking issue for the hybrid when engine is forced on to charge the hybrid batteries.
I tried using dashcam first but nope, it's untraceable. I was expecting it to pivot it's nose downward abit due to the power loss/judder, but nope, car looks rock solid.

After finally spending on a OBDII BT adaptor, below is what I found. (Skip to Spoiler)

Data is captured with Torque. Dataset captured is: Hybrid Battery charge (%), Engine rpm, Speed(km/h).
Hybrid battery charge is captured to keep track of the 'when battery is 25%, turn engine on' condition.
Engine rpm, to align when it turns on and causes the judder/jerk/power loss.
Speed (km/h), to check deceleration during judder/jerk/power loss.

OBDII PID scan rate is at ~20/sec. Torque's "Faster communication" is NOT used for fear of messing with internal the CAN.
The error I know of that is present in the data is that km/h is derived from the GPS (it drifts +/- 6 meters) but the judder exists and seems consistent.

Deceleration can cut up to 25% of current speed when it judders at low speed. Imagine randomly stomping the brakes while driving at low speed. puke.gif

I'll capture more dataset with actual speed information based on the car's reported speed on the OBD next time. Stay tuned next week or so.

CONCLUSION, i-DCD IS TIHS. (at low speeds, when outta batteries)

So today was a hot day. Some whatsapp members posted 40°C @ ~1PM on their driver panel info screen.

I parked half shaded and with cheapo 3M horizon+ RM1,700 shit.
With 2x rear windows 1 inch /2 cm down.

hi all sifu/masta here....i'm a proud owner of Jazz V spec for 1.5 months. Did my 1k service and apparently nothing was change..they just check2 see2 look2...ask to come back 5 mth later/10k km.

You see its 1.5 month and i'm only clocking 1.3k km only. By looking at it i might only hit 6k km and its adi 6 month old..hahaha...so then i'm planning another trip to Alor Setar and Penang on the Jazz so clock more km.

Since the Jazz engine oil & etc all still from factory. Any advice for long distance trip. Yes, i've been reading quite a bit before posting. Like those no no thingy, no hard accel, no cruise control, no static at a particular speed.

I actually have brought it back to Alor Setar when it was only 200km...i drove below 100km/h most the time and variable speed between 75-95km/h. Any advice would be good smile.gif

As for the car the only complain i got is i think the Goodyear Excellence tyre a bit noisy on certain road/tarmac. other than that its definately better ride that all my previous national car, so much stable when cornering, fc as good as my kelisa if not better and the looks is awesome and handsome.

High profile, inevitable that you will see some bulge. Unless crazy tire pressures.

I am on 38f 36r 205/45/17. Bumpy as hell. Sidewall not stiff enough and keep getting some sidewall rollover.
I think you should check with the dealerships instead as they might have more to offer on top of official offerings

Can't really make sense of the graph without having to be able to look at stuff like throttle position.

I guess it will have to wait until the 8 speed torque converter based dual clutch to be launched in order to solve this problem.
Isn't fog light H11?
I am sure Honda takes into account the operating temperatures of the batteries especially in hot climate countries.

Furthermore, there would be a lot more heat from the twin loop muffler sitting so close to the batteries that might overwhelm it compared to environment heat.

RE: Graph pedal input
Version 2 of the graph will have pedal %.
Already started recording but, traffic has been smoother and couldn't force that jerky scenario; keep timing it wrongly since having the OBDII readout... started to subconsciously try to prevent the jerk from happening... graphs will be delayed.

RE: Muffler heat
Ahhh but the engine is shut off 50% of the time, and RPMs hover around 1200 to 2000 max.
During driving, temperature drops to about 37~39 at the boot without A/C, compared to 43°C (today) when parked.

Speaking of battery and heat... I've experienced twice the engine randomly turning on during jams. Battery was charged and coolant temp was safe zone 80+, probably the battery+electronics shitting itself from the heat and making the engine work. Guess I'll start AC during bad jams eventhough it's counterproductive for the FC.
