just wanna ask anyone been to romania for med studies?

i'm considering to apply for it. any advise for me?

Why you wanna go to Romania when there are already so many IPTS available?

If school fee is a problem for you, go to indonesia or Russia. But for Russia, 100% self study is required.

Not all EU countries are recognised. Check the list for recognized unis at MOH website.

fees in indonesia and russia much more ex than romania.. living cost at romania is kinda similar with malaysia.

most important factor is, my results are not good..
i cant go into local U.. private U too ex for me..

i'm 20.. so actualy very behind liao

As long as you have money, you can get a place there regardless of your result.

Actually why you wanna do medicine? Money and fame? Or you really have the passion? Because housemanship in malaysia is very tiring, 36 hours per shift when you are on call.

Yes you can, but it's freaking tough. Why wanna go thru the trouble when there are easier and better options out there?

honestly, im much skilled in business.. anything else besides science.

but i have a passion for science.. i love science.. i love medicine..

actually i don't intend to be whole life doctor. i just wanna get the MD.. not by cash but by genuine work.. then i wanna join world mission.

sounds silly but it has been my dream since standard 1.

my results can't be blamed la.
first, not so intellegent.
second, study comes last during high school but koko always first..

no regrets by the way. i love my life. love the challenges that i faced.

you have no idea how much i wanna get into medicine.. hehe

no worries, i wil stil get an MD even i'm old as 60.

And I really hope that time is in it's place that you'll get your MD in a desired time frame.

I don't know why you're so caught up on to Romania. but basically obtaining working visa as a doctor in non-uk country is gonna be a bit difficult. having speak the language of that country. and many other factors.

be careful of agents and universities who seemingly place their living expenses so low. you might end up spending more than you can afford. so dont trust all the agents.

depending on your result, you can go to any of the IPTS in malaysia. many of them accept low grades, manipal-melaka was BCC , IMU was BBC, AIMST am not sure. so at the end of the day insurance in your degree, and you know for a fact a loan from PTPTN can be secured, malaysia sounds like a better destination rather than romania. you might not qualify for monash though, heard they have high entry results.

Added on May 11, 2009, 5:57 pmif you join M209, you'll have break throughout most of december and January, but in december you have a summative, which is peanuts compared to the EOS. so take your time and have fun then. After EOS its about 1 and half months. : )

This should have deterred you from doing med.

We don't care how passionate you are, how much you want to be a doctor or how much you want to sacrifice.. (insert some nonsense crap here)

Bad results=No go

If you can't do it in high school, you can't do it in uni. Its as simple as that.

No bullshit about how you will study hard, work hard, ask lecturers, read a lot etc. because it won't happen. I repeat, IT WON'T HAPPEN.

I'm not trying to be rude or mean. I'm just telling you the facts. Medicine is a complicated. You don't stop studying in uni, you study throughout your life.
Take the swine flu for example. Never before has the world seen a mutation of both swine and human flu.

Another example...asthma. What causes asthma?

As a lay person, you might think its just a simple disease. But in truth, WE DO NOT KNOW. We do not know what mechanisms take place. There are so many hypothesis (eg. TH2), but no one can guarantee you a 100% that asthma is caused by that. There are so many factors involved, research is going on. You might be taught something one day....and that turns out to be wrong the next day.

Another one which you might be more familiar with... Panadol. How does it cause an analgesic effect? No one is sure. There are many hypothesis, but no one definitely knows. Google it up if you don't believe me. (Look at renown websites or pharmacology books, not websites like wikipedia)

Are you willing to commit for your entire life? If you can't handle something like SPM etc, you can't handle this.
