if considering cash back only,
unless the monthly minimum spend RM 500 cannot be achieved, the platinum would be optimal choice
3% cash back: gold minimum spend RM 1,000; platinum minimum RM 500
the 5% on infinite is kind of meaningless when the cap is RM 30

not sure if they come in pairs/dual (visa + mastercard) such as MBB/Affin or whether 1 can be cancelled like PBB
*
haha yes

some times, these spending criteria is irrelevant. they just want to whack the card to get cashback biggrin.gif

one need to study each card vs cb tier vs min spending, to maximize the cb earning/spending ... just like what you did above thumbup.gif

Platinum can get RM30 CB on tier 1, and Gold can get RM30 CB on tier 2, of course need to spend RM1000

i dont get this.. whats the point of increasing the cb% if the max CB stay the same.. might as well get gold instead of plat/infinite...

Ya. Agree that. The only different about infinite is that it has free airport lounge

1. Annual Income: RM100K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably or with waiver

3. Card required for: Primarily for Petrol

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Alliance VI

5. Interested in CC from: Hong Leong Visa Infinite

6. Others: My priority is to accumulate miles points and for most of my usage Alliance VI works, except for petrol about RM600 a month. So im trying look for a card that can maximize for petrol. Also i mostly fuel Caltex. And I prefer not to use the auto-top up feature if using Setel.

Get the Maybank 2 card Amex if you can schedule your petrol transactions on weekends. I remember Caltex do support Amex if I am not mistaken please correct me if I’m wrong.

Maybank Visa Signature 5% cb everyday for petrol and grocery cap at RM88

if purely targeting the spend to hit RM88 cb per month (ie RM1760 per month only); then be mindful of the huge RM550 annual fee from year2 if annual spending didnt meet min RM30k (min RM2500 per month)

Yes, now I remember why I cancelled this card sweat.gif

Maybe Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Mastercard Platinum or Gold is better. 5% cb on Friday and Saturday cap at RM50 on Petrol and Groceries.

1. Annual Income: around RM100k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably but not a must, as I seldom go out shopping.

3. Card required for: Primarily for Taobao stock purchase (a lot), Alipay top up, local petrol/ grocery cashback, and AirMiles/ Lounge access because I fly a few times every year.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): NIL

5. Interested in CC from: no preference.

6. Others: I don't mind having two/ three credit cards. Because I have maybank accounts, I tried applying a CC from them but I got rejected twice firstly bc of my PTPTN tunggakan (which I've cleared, but still cannot), and secondly because I've never had any other loans before. I even asked if pledging FD is possible but the MB staff said it's only for people without any income. I guess maybe a lower-range card would be easier to apply? I'm also about to resort to applying one from RinggitPlus in the hope that an agent would be able to help me get a card lol.

Hi all, looking for any recommendation to existing CC
Main priority is for cashback

1. Annual Income: RM100K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably or with waiver

3. Card required for: Cashback

4. Existing credit cards (if any): maybank 2 plat

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others: Every month already max out CB for amex card. Feel im missing out on more cashback as alot of spending using Visa card (about 1-2k on visa card, 1k for insurance, others general spending)
Also getting abit fed up and tired of getting Amex rejected everywhere.
If theres one card that can pay all and get similar cashback as amex also dont mind to terminate the amex.
Prefer card which dont have those tier for spending, makes it more mafan to calculate

For insurance you can use Affin Duo.
Another card you can take into consideration is Amex Ikhwan card if you shop a lot at Shopee or Lazada. You can also use it for some online bill payment too.

I just got BIMB Visa platinum today, and will enrol the autopsy (autopay) for the insurance. Let's see when or if the CB will be credited to my account.

Hi all, fresh grad here started working recently. Looking to get my first credit card. Appreciate your help! Details as follows:

1. Annual Income: RM75k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No.

3. Card required for: everyday lunch spending, dinner some days, Grab about RM200/month random purchases here and there.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil.

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank 2 Platinum (purely for the AMEX) and HSBC Visa Signature for points.

6. Others: Not really fussy with anything, either maximize cashback or good points conversion. Reason looking at M2Plat. bcs 5x points on weekdays and 5% cb on weekends.
