Hello everyone.
Checking is there any card that has higher cashback than HLB Essential which only gives 0.4% cashback. Am looking for Essential credit card replacement for NON-Grocery, petrol, online, dining category items.

Currently i have Maybank Amex and Barcelona card but Amex 5% is only on weekend (with RM50 cap) while Barcelona 2% also RM50 cap.

Thank you

OCBC 365 Mastercard can be consider as
Benefits
Up to 1% cashback on all retail spending up to first RM1,000
0.5% cashback on subsequent retail spending
No foreign exchange mark-up for overseas spending

Not sure if maybank allow cancel of mastercard and letting you to keep the Amex.

Maybank FC Barcelona definitely is a good CB card for anything that your other CC doesn't have CB since it's giving 2% CB / RM50 cap on almost everything. You should get it before May to benefits from the May and Aug 10% CB / RM100 cap.

Another recommendation is PBB Quantum which comes with 2 cards, 1 has online transaction 5% CB / RM30 cap and another 1 has contactless 5% CB / RM30 cap.

This combination should keep you busy collecting cashback for the rest of the year.  biggrin.gif

1. Annual Income: RM48k (before deductions) ~42k after deduction

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must, don't mind minimum swipe a month.

3. Card required for: Cashback/Rebate, Dining, groceries, petrol and to build future credit records

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank Rewards Platinum (supplementary holder)

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others: Getting a card to build credit records and to use for monthly spending (less than RM 800 a month)

Hi all, can recommend any CC? Am looking at Citibank cashback card but wondering if there's any other suggestion.

Is it possible to invest in unit trusts using credit cards and get cashback for it? If yes, which credit cards are able to do this?

FCB VS is still a very good card giving 1% rebate on general retail transactions except e-wallets, utilities, Government. Most of other CC shall give you around 0.2%-0.4% only and to be reduced by end of this year (the card transaction fee will be reduced again on 1/1/2021, as proposed by Bank Negara).

1. Annual Income: RM180K and above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: Business expenses of ~RM200k/month (online transactions).

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank2Cards Premier

5. Interested in CC from: MAS American Express® Gold/Platinum Business Card  - Based on research, this is the only suitable card. 2EM for every RM5 overseas spend, 1EM for every RM5 local spend. My question is, can the EM be redeemed to a personal Enrich Miles account? Or will it be a separate company account? (Correct me if I am wrong please)

6. Others: I just want to maximize my airmiles with my business expenses.  My M2P would be perfect, but Maybank T&C restricts business expense, and I do not want to get into problems with Maybank if I get caught doing so.

Just my 2 cents, as i'm researching for the most suitable credit cards for me too. I have came across Alliance Business Platinium Card which offered 1.25% cash rebates for all transactions and capped at RM2500 per month, meaning if u spent RM200k or more, u will get rebate max at RM2.5k. Maybe for those additional spendings more than RM200k, you can mixed around with Standard Chartered Just One Platinium and PBB Quantum or HLB Essential (Unlimited Cash Back but at 0.4%).

Open for discussion in order to optimize benefits from ccards

1. Annual Income: RM50~60k (Self Employed and the income going to increase year by year)

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Prioritize free

3. Card required for: Petrol, Insurance, eWallet Top Up

4. Existing credit cards (if any): MBB 2 Cards (Usually only use Amex for the cashback, used to Pay Telekom Bills and Telco), HSBC Amanah (monthly RM2000+ used for insurance and petrol, plan to cancel after they tweaked the benefits), HSBC Signature Visa (going to cancel), SCJOP (monthly RM2500+ used for utilities and insurances), Citi Clear Master and Citi Simplicity Visa (may cancel one and keep another as i have the highest credit limit with Citi), HLEssential (mainly insurances with monthly RM5k++)

5. Interested in CC from: Now aiming PBB Quantum (30 capped cash back), MBB Ikhwan Petronas (Petrol usage with 50 capped), MBB FC Barcelona and Alliance Business Master (2500 capped monthly with 1.25% rebate)

Basically, all these ccards are used when i worked in West Malaysia big construction company when i have annual salary of RM60~70k. After i have started by own business, it seemed all my application rejected except for SCJOP which was approved with min. credit limit. I have combined usage of all these credit cards with bigpay and so far so good. It just that few cards benefits tweaked and i foolishly cancelled HLB Fortune which i believed is the best cash back for high spenders. Please advice or give suggestion on how to get those new cards for my own business benefits. I did know we can pledge FD, but that will be my last resort.

Just for reference, i have some ploans (RM1500 monthly) and a car loan (RM800). As for ccards payment, i clear all monthly, only some months i delayed.

Thanks.

Just for update, i have got my MBB FCB early of this year but Maybank had announced that their rebates will reduce to 1% only after August 2020. So, i think i will cancel it and go for Alliance Business Master (but their entry requirement quite high, so if there's anyone here know the trick, pls do let me know. smile.gif) If there's any better cards, please share to me. It seemed like all those good credit cards always been nerfed after few years..my bad.

i think most normal ppl dont go for business card, but you are self-employed, abit more unique, maybe you can get it.

based on your spending pattern and available cards

1) you should move your insurance from HLB essential to barcelona, the rebate is higher for barcelona. dont think you should cancel barcelona. 1% is still good considering you have high expenditure.

2) you can add on SCB Liverpool to your existing JOP. this way, rejection rate will be lower.

3) maybe maintain your HLB essential for all other spending... now only 0.x%? forgot.

Payment for insurance premium consider online transaction, so far a few card entitled, 5% for public quantum, only 1% for OCBC Titanium (if I didn't get wrong), 1.4% for Alliance Younique, but you need to have more than RM 3k transaction.
