Start with your salary crediting bank then only start applying cards from other banks. Your PTPTN must not have missed payment. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 10 2018, 02:10 PM

No reason will be provided by banks. It's good that you check out your CCRIS from BNM, you never know what happens to your CCRIS. You can try Citibank, heard it's easy to get. Useful cards are Maybank2Cards but MBB does have quite high of rejection, you can try applying these cards too.

I happened to walk pass BSN last weekend and spoke to an officer there and told her about how my credit card application got rejected because my credit score is too clean and has got no other commitments, and then also asked her what's the minimum FD pledge to apply for a credit card with BSN. She laughed and said since my salary is above the min requirement there is no need to pledge, and asked me to bring over my payslip and she'll apply for me.
Since my purpose is to build my credit score, I think I'll just give it a last try and see if it works before pledging FD, haha.
Btw I called up Maybank. Ya the min pledge amount is 5k.
