IC, I think the strategy is to get subscribers hooked on to channels with dramas as one needs to continue catching the rod if the drama gets the eyeballs.

When I walk pass some Malay neighbours, I noticed they are always switched on to MNC's  Drama channel, haha.

There should be free preview .... I will share some pics on Mon.

Btw... Do you have any idea why those Asia feed for those English language pay TV channels (e.g. Fox, A&E Networks, HBO, Viacom, Time Warner...) do not provide English subtitles? Instead, only non-English subtitles are available. I believe there is viewers that prefer to watch shows in English subtitles even the programme is already in English.

Also, there are some pay TVs in other Asian countries where the subtitle language of their native mother tongue language is not available for those English pay channels. For example, HBO HD channel in Myanmar's DTH pay TV does not have Burmese subtitles at all (they use Asia feed, same as what you see on Singtel/Starhub TV but without Chinese subtitles of course). Yes, English movie with no subtitles at all.
So I do wonder how would the majority of the people there would be able understand the dialogues of the movie? Only the ones that is well educated in English will be able to understand the dialogues... In other example, some movies that airs on Fox Movies/Fox Action Movies has Burmese subtitles, some movie no subtitles at all.

Any idea about that? Or you got any friend that knows the reason of not having English subtitles, even the channel is in English? hmm.gif

Yes, I previously got 2 astro account.
Planning to sekali terminate semua astro account due to the pricing issued.
But end up only 1 account terminate while another change to njoi..

My parent keep mentioned wanna to watch astro in-house, but reject from them (which is 1 account been terminate).
I just tell them, "wait for Unifi" due to no coverage currently.

Damn, waiting for 2 years plus already still no unifi yet. Need to be patient until become a ghost already if seriously unifi come in. vmad.gif
Anyway, saw my friend (who has unifi) the Fox channels launch in Unifi TV. I expect more in coming channels as long as don't increase price. devil.gif
That's simple. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sometimes no choice need to enforce to change their mind so that you won't be suffer to "pay waste bill".

Unifi always with excuses only..
Says no demand, Port full etc.

Many have been waiting for years, yet no use at all..
If they were fast expended.. Then astro would close shop soon.. For now, nope as many people still don't really have true alternative... Only certain content..

Let me check wif my fren and let u know..... I recall it has to do wif $$. Also the English movies does not come wif English close captions fr the movie content provider .... They are given only scripts for the channel provider to outsource to subtitling company for translation. Update again once I hear from him.

Excuse company with no competitor is the most problem in Malaysia. Rakyat Malaysia all beg and like a slave to Unifi for coverage.

Astro wont be close shop one. Their in house channels already sell to other country, somemore earn profit not Ringgit Malaysia one.

Subtitle also need $$? Then the voice speaking (like speaking change to Chinese or Malay) more expensive?

Oh ya.. open a lot of mall just to attract foreigner buy from our country..
Just wait and see this property development lah. If the housing inside a lot of issued like breaking floor, toilet bowl leakage and others, then hw strong is useless.

Best time to promo Astro Go this world cup season.
Last month, Pyeongchang Olympic got free 1 exclusive channel free.

Maybe, next target non astro customer like customer that use Unifi to use to watch astro channel in different platform. Now see Live TV in HD channel so much improve & definitely look in 720p HD atleast.

From last year astro go get new look & next maybe introduce astro go app built in on Smart TV like Netflix. Offer both Live TV & On Demand. Also, HBO movies in Astro Go no longer free. Need to subscribe Movies Pack to watch. sad.gif

No surprise as they already say more HD content will come from last year launch. New feature like Chromecast support & Kids mode & buy TV channel using Credit Card in Google Play Billing. Now Tonton from Media Prima got Chromecast support. But, content is not in real HD. Anyway, they have more money. So, can improve the streaming service. Just hope next is not just give exclusive channel in astro go. Already 1 year still not available in Byond HD STB. doh.gif
