Last year when I place it, I did not received any documents either hard copy or soft copy. Is that normal?

No more walk-around survey of FD rates at the banks because of Covid-19. FD rates also low below attractive 4 % at least for promotions. Instead of survey the banks, survey the customers here.

Disregarding OPR and FD board rates and savings rates, ask you:-

A) What is the appropriate promo FD rate if you are in the shoes of banks?

B) What is the appropriate promo FD rate if you are :-
1) Filthy rich / run funds?
2) Still have a viable business/job or self income?
3) Depends on FD as not skilled in other riskier investment activities?

Please share some explanation of your reply so that can appreciate what is possible to be done. Thanks.

For maturing FD in UOB, placed OTC, can we withdraw it online? If yes, can it be withdrawn on the same day as maturity date, without penalty?

FD mature is either renewed or credited to yr nominated account. If renewed at board rate I believe you can go online to cancel the FD and credit the principal to yr a/c. You can then on the same day transfer the money out. Note this is limited to RM50k daily but you do need to change the daily limit for transfer to the max 50k

For UOB FD OTC placement, we can do online withdrawal. Same day as maturity date, no penalty. Fund available immediately for transfer

Human Nature,
I unable answer your questions, but the FD without penalty, before mature day you'll lose the all interest this is assumed partial withdraw all.
I think your FD printed date shown the mature day, in the same day, you can call the branch to check or ask, or if your have UOB online, when you saw last interest ready bank in to your account, I think matured, free to withdraw.

Also GrumpyNooby, if I not wrong even lose the UOB FD slip also not need report police, this is mean you only bring your IC also can OTC withdraw your FD, but avoid trouble just safe kept and bring it when time come. Others bank also not need report police, just lose bank draft I think all want report police.

Now, UOB and others bank time operating is different.

The FD slip is not FD certificate; just an acknowledgement slip.
My maturity instruction for the FD-i that was placed last year OTC is to credit the amount into the nominated saving account.
I did ask if I can uplift the FD online. The cashier counter staff did say YES.

Thanks for all the replies. Just realized that still need to go UOB this week to withdraw cash OTC to avoid CASA being dormant.

June will be a heartache month as few FD maturing. Will divert a bulk of them into BR as their 2.75% 12m is the best bet for now.

I not sure UOB can deposit then can avoid dormant or not, but before some bank can.
If UOB withdraw no matter OTC or online you can avoid dormant, then if you have UOB online and FD, just withdraw FD, after this use the IBG/IBFT withdraw to your any bank account, this step ready can avoid dormant UOB account.
If don't have FD only RM20, I think UOB online also allow IBG/IBFT withdraw RM1, then later you deposit back RM1 to UOB kept the min balance.
If not wrong, is like that, so at this moment better try call or email to get answers.

The promo rates are for placement OTC only.

As for the other question, I think it has been answered - can withdraw online at the Internet Banking. Can withdraw on the same day as the FD mature without any penalty.

One thing to be aware, when place FD at promo rate (OTC), was told it will be automatically renew when mature. So, either have to withdraw manually using their Internet Banking when mature or amend FD instruction in the Internet Banking before it mature so that the funds will automatically credit to your savings account upon maturity.

If not, banyak rugi kena renew at board rate if we don't notice it.
