Actually a lot of opamps out there which are compatible, you can try them all, but you need money as well...

True, but well, I'm not too keen on changing opamp again. But well, I try my luck on this new one, hope it will be the last one that I changed. I requested for some sample of LT1364 from Linear too, but I think thats gonna be awhile before it arrives

QUOTE(songbo @ Jun 16 2008, 08:14 PM) I still don't know. Actually I really wanted to try AD8599 but Farnell won't accept credit card, RS don't sell them either I changed opamp few days ago, although I don't believe opamp burn-in I do hear sonic difference now, it started to sound warmer and mellow slightly from the day I solder it in |

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Jun 16 2008, 08:44 PM) [attachmentid=499806] I'm sure there was something wrong in your latest results...the frequency response definitely won't exceed +-0.5dB...I've done RMAA test for my X-Fi. Here's my latest result. The latest beta driver (2.18.0000) seems to perform much better than latest official driver (2.15.0006). I'm not sure my results are reliable or not... I don't have Maybank account unfortunatelySince you desolder/solder the opamp repeatedly, why not you just solder 3 different opamps in the board so that you can compare them directly...i plan to do so, at least 2 different opamps... Good idea, but since I bypass the muting on primary, its not fair that the other channel still have it. I'm planning to remove opamp on other channel leaving clean supply to front channel |

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Jun 16 2008, 09:56 PM) X-Fi XtremeMusic first batch. I noticed there were few inconsistencies regarding RMAA test results... are you using line-in for recording or wave?I start to feel weird.... can you post you graph of frequency response, noise level and dynamic range? EDIT: i highly doubted that you are using wave recording rather than line-in...impossible XtremeMusic can reach -106dB noise level and dynamic range for loop back test... QUOTE(Najmods @ Jun 16 2008, 10:11 PM) no, we no need to care about the pinout of those transistor...just solder the cable before those transistor and after SMD output resistor is done...EDIT: OK, for those transistor in that surround channel, you will see N20+ printed on top...to bypass, just short the upper pin left and upper pin right... Alright thanks for the info, currently I have no intention of doing soEDIT: OK, for those transistor in that surround channel, you will see N20+ printed on top...to bypass, just short the upper pin left and upper pin right... Weird, the LME49720 becomes more and more listenable now, Katie Melua never sounded this good before |
