ElitePro DAC quite decent already, why not just use it?

But i want to pair with Wharfedale Diamond 9.1
Please recommend me a Amp tht can pair with Elite Pro + Wharfedale.

Edit: Actually DVD + Amp + Wharfedale is better rite?

if you just want to use Digital out to listen stereo music, either DVD or ElitePro will done the job, but pair with ElitePro is overkill in this case...

But they said i still need an amp to run Wharfedale Diamond 9.1, cant just pair with Elite Pro because Wharfedale done have build in amp.

of course you need amp...

i just suggest that if you only use digital connection to listen 2 channel stereo sound then you no need to buy ElitePro, just DVD player is more than enough..

Yo bro coolkwc... reading back on the posts on this thread, I'm confused again

Earlier on u said the Xi-Fi is only capable of outputting PCM 2.1 (u said ppl complaining), even using DIGITAL output...
Then later u said Xi-Fi can output 5.1 by using proper software and codecs...

That means this is sofware and NOT hardware limitation?
Does it mean it IS possible to playback Dolby Digital/DTS sources through the PC and output to home theater via DIGITAL OUT and get 5.1 SURROUND?

Sry for the trouble ya... still reading up on all this audio tech (apparently quite old technologies this DD/DTS)...

OK, like this....by using digital connection

1.you can only output 2 channel stereo in game, even the game is support multichannel sound
2.you can only output 2 channel stereo even you set your speaker to multichannel configuration....Digital output not response to CMSS3D setting and speaker setting...
3.you can and only can listen to Dolby digital/DTS by using 3rd party software to pass-through SPDIF. Without proper software, even your movie is DTS/Dolby sound track it will only send out 2 channel digital signal.

Clear?

Ok, thanks so much for the clear-up... At least I know I can connect my XtremeGamer (yea I know gamer card but I got good deal hehe) to the family home theater and enjoy Dolby Digital/DTS with movies... aiyak, now only know AC3 = Dolby Digital... Thanks again!

Anyone using Windows XP change to the new beta? I don't try it, never bother since the current one just fine with me

Is there anything we can discuss other than modding? How about games? X-Fi is built from ground up for gaming, so we better talk its gaming performance. All the game I tested give very good result, even the game that doesn't support EAX like Crysis. On the game that supports it, its just amazing. Especially in F.E.A.R, even when enemy sneak up on me, I can listen to them before I can see them. Environment, ambient, different material sounds great too

Ermm, stay away from this beta, a lot of problems...

So far i haven't play any first person shooter game except testing the BattleField2...i will vomit if i play it... i only play racing game, so the EAX not very useful to me...but i will look forward a piece of 8800GT a month later to play my favorite ColinMcrae:DiRT and RaceDriver GRID, this 2 got EAX5 HD engine ...

Oh you are one of the people who get motion sickness in FPS. Luckily I don't. Only game that gives me a little headache is Medal of Honor: Airborne. The motion blur and weapon sway makes me a bit dizzy, but only for a few minutes

I wanted to try DIRT but I heard it got lots of bugs because its a port from console, same like SC:DA

i got DiRT in hand since it released, but no chance to play... colinMcrae got a lot of bugs for last few series also, i play CMR2005 before by using this SC, even EAX4 HD very good adi...

I see...I've played CMR before, but I don't remember which one I actually play With a steering wheel I get very far in the game, with just a keyboard it went nowhere

With EAX Advance HD, even GTA: San Andreas sounds great. Before this when I uses SB Live!, whenever there is rain, the sound will drop and eventually one by one the sound from environment gone leaving only the radio in car functioning With X-Fi, no such problem existed, and never in my life hearing so much sound at one time, even in rain, I can hear tire screech, plus people honking at me for driving like mad and sound of wind and ambient too at the same time

Speaker : Logitech Z5500
Sound Card : Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Music (Attached with Digital I/O Module)
Cable From Sound to Speaker : Original speaker Cable (Z5500) and Optical Cable
Operation System : Window XP SP2
Audio Player : Foobar2000
Audio Player Playback Output : ASIO
Sound Card Mode : Audio Creation Mode

Now my problem :
When i select Entertainment Mode for my sound card, my speaker can detect 6 channel direct sound and optical output.
When i select Audio Creation Mode for my sound card, my speaker only can detect 6 channel direct sound with ASIO output. But the optical output for my speaker has no signal.
Thats means the Audio Creation Mode cannot perform ASIO output through optical cable to speaker or what???
Any pro user here can give me advice.

/ps: This sound card only can perform ASIO output from Audio Creation Mode. Other 2 mode (Entertainment Mode and Game Mode) cannot perform ASIO output.

and yap, only can use ASIO in Audio Creation Mode, otherwise the driver will hang...

ASIO is only for analog output, since you now using Digital out, so ASIO doesn't make sense at all, since digital out already consider as pure bit stream from your songs....and keep in mind that digital out only can output 2 channel stereo PCM and won't response to ASIO, direct sound, CMSS3D and mutichannel speaker setting..
