Noob, you better change your 'good' speaker before you mess with those features...your speaker using now will spoil all things...Your upcoming speaker consider quite decent..

yeah, after you said that, I go compare 5021 and 4121....
the frequency produce by 4121 just 25hz-15Khz but 5021 is 30-22Khz....
do frequency a big matter ?

Please don't compare this two based on the specification, the main problem of VS4121 is the down-firing midrange driver that spoilt the sound totally...change your speaker as soon as possible, for me VS4121 is not qualified to pair with any discrete sound card...

Balance of entire frequency range is more important than wide frequency range alone...

Hmm, the stock sound signature isn't that bad too. A bit on dry side, but thats good, vocal is a bit forward and there are some detail that present on it that I haven't heard from Yulong PCM58DAC. This card sound promising to be modded, but keep it at stock for a while

If you use XP just stick with latest Creative driver, no need to use Daniel_K modded driver..

Hehe, wait you mod first....after a long time considerasion and surf the head-fi forum, i decided to swap only the coupling, decoupling, and power cap but not op-amp...

Yeah, I'm with you, I'm not fond changing the card sound signature (the opamp). I see your post on X-Fi modding thread, well I have tons of thing to do, I can do it right about now, but it depends on me, I'm not feeling well right now, caught a cold last night so my awareness is a bit down

although i can't hear it, but My front channel exhibit a lot of distortion compare with the real ST4558 channel in RMAA test (0.14X compare with 0.0014, almost 10 times higher), so i guess the opamp input cap reach it time adi...
