QUOTE(kantiaros @ Apr 6 2008, 03:57 AM) haha, perhaps Perfect-Stranger should work in Sony Centre and definately their sales will shot up.... Thanks >< Im just giving away what i know about VAIO, hope it can helps u all QUOTE(Tom Welling @ Apr 6 2008, 09:22 PM) According to JEITA Battery Run Time Measurement Method, estimated battery life is around 4 hours. But practically it can last around 2 hours for max.You cant actually balance everything since you want BEST performance, of coz your battery will be used up in short period of time. Rmb, urs is using Core2Duo, no longer solo core processor. If you want to have longer battery life, just go to power option there select which mode that you want. Power Sacing mode or etc etc. QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Apr 6 2008, 09:36 PM) hi i am using two vaio, S46GP & TX57. although i have been using the S46GP for more than 2 years, it is still performing very well. TX57 is in lack of speed which i believe it is due to the window vista platform. i am wondering if i can ask sony centre to downgrade the platform to window xp at no cost. can anyone assist me please? Er, Bro, TX57 using solo core processor with 1.33Ghz speed only, what you expect ? To enhance the speed, what you can do is just upgrade the RAM. But do take note, the max Ram you can actually go is 1.5gb Ram. Thanks =) Err, to downgrade your TX57 to window XP at cost, is impossible to do so. Unless you have the Window XP professional SP2 installation CD. Then, go to this website -- > http://www.sony-asia.com/support/download/...site=hp_en_AP_i Download the Window XP downgrade drivers which will takes you around 1 day +, after that downgrade yourself. Or lets say you want someone to help you, just download the drivers everything and saved it inside your pendrive, after that bring ur pendrive + your laptop + Window XP installation CD, ask Sony Style staff to help you at no cost. If you back to those Sony centre which owned by dealers, confirmed will have some charges on it. By the way, Good luck, coz i do the downgrade for TZ series before, took a loooooooooooooooong time. QUOTE(kantiaros @ Apr 7 2008, 12:07 PM) maybe i am planning to buy CR35 in the coming pc fair, they are giving away free sony mouse, bag pack and add 1 yr warranty to existing package. What i can say is, so far, this model can be consider a very GOOD model which comes with latest technology and reasonable price compared to other brand. Some people they just comparing btw the specs given but they actually ignored all those softwares that comes together with the laptop itself. Everything compact inside. But do rmb, Microsoft is NOT INCLUDED nowadays. Do keep some budget for it. could someone give the feedback of this model , on stability, durability and accesibility ? any known errors ? QUOTE(Tom Welling @ Apr 7 2008, 12:07 PM) 4 hrs? bt y some said the most 2 hrs onli? Bro, the extended warranty to maximum 3 years will be around RM430 extra which offered by Sony Style Direct store. btw, how much is the price of extending 1 more yr warranty? anyone knows? But the BEST GENKI offering another extended warranty which only need RM70 extra to have few years extended warranty. Correct me if im wrong. Thanks. QUOTE(Tom Welling @ Apr 7 2008, 04:02 PM) um...wat kind of warranty is that which offered by the shop? if any parts of the laptop gt problem then i can claim from the shop?? Mate, if the model you are looking for is a VAIO brand, the warranty given from any dealers or any sony centre are the same. On behind of the warranty card, you can actually see contact numbers stated there for every different state in Malaysia. Just call and ask which service centre is the nearest in your place when u faced some difficulties with your laptop. btw...i'm in penang...where can i get such a good deal in penang? Well, of coz, first of all, just call back to the shop where you purchased it. Ask for technical support from them first since they received your money. Make sure they do something for you. If lets say you do some changes on my hardware, will it void the warranty which covered by the official sony centre ? Yeap, Kantiaros is right. The VAIO OverSea service ( VOS ) is running together with your local warranty and only apply when you travel to other country. This post has been edited by Perfect-Stranger: Apr 7 2008, 05:39 PM |

Perfect-Stranger says it all btw, how much is the price of extending 1 more yr warranty? anyone knows? yup. if u use High Performance Power Plan then the battery life will finish up fast. if u use Power Saver (like me n bout penang, well im at KL but my dad insists to buy for me at penang n my whole family was pissed off with the Gurney Plaza's Sony cos they were just like statues standing there. so my dad went to this shop called House of Notebooks n they do sell Vaio CR35, I already knew if u buy at penang u wont get better offer compare to u buy it at lowyat plaza, but my dad insists so i juz.. they sell it at the price of RM4450 and the free gifts are pretty useless FM Transmitter, Portable Speakers n dats all i think. doh~ but my dad was vr sastified wif the customer service so he juz bought it there for me. if it wasnt my pc crashed n i nid a lappie to do my fyp n studies, my family wouldn't be so rush juz to get me a lappie. hehehe. tats my story. QUOTE(Tom Welling @ Apr 7 2008, 09:10 PM) You are welcome ya. QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Apr 7 2008, 09:15 PM) Bro, i do agree with you the processor is one of the main factors of the lagging. I do intent to upgrade the ram for tx57 to 1.5gb. I would like to check with you if i can take out the 500mb ram from my s46 and install it into the tx57? does the ram from the s series compatible with the tx series? fyi, my s46 stock ram is 500mb, then upgrade by sony centre to 1gb by adding another 500mb. Attacusatlas, to be frank, other than the mobility, i am a bit regret in getting the tx57. i know it is indeed a head turner due to its appearance and size, but performance wise FYI, your RAM from S46 can be used in TX57 since both are using DDR2 RAM. It's compatible. But, do remember, TX57 only got one slot available for the RAM itself. You cant take out ur S46 RAM to put into your TX. Now inside your TX57 laptop adi got 512mb memory + your additional 512mb RAM, so your laptop already have 1GB ram. So in this case, inorder to become 1.5GB RAM, you need to purchase another 1GB DDR2 RAM to slot in, inorder to get 1.5GB RAM for your laptop. The extra 513mb u just keep it bah. Yea, T series mostly for longer battery life and the performance wise is not that great if were to compared with S series since S series always the top of the range laptop in VAIO. QUOTE(Sardine @ Apr 7 2008, 11:10 PM) Perfect-Stranger says it all Haha ! But according to Sony VAIO specialist, this is good for your VAIO battery. Haha ! PPLS stand like statues xD |

Errr, if were to compared which brand more stable, i dont think anyone here can really say it out. Meaning because it's all depands on your luck. Well, i heard some news from Asus side, in coming PC fair, they are the only one who comes with 2 years international warranty. Take notes, it's international warranty. This might be their weapon during PC fair i guess.. lol |
