hi guys... ive been using my vaio alot now, sometimes for extended periods of time, and i discovered now my fan is very noisy sometimes with a buzzing sound. is this normal after heavy use or is it time to bring my vaio in? (using SZ4330)
*
Just like you, I've also used my VAIO for a long period of time, but this never happens on mine.
My suggestion: Try sending the laptop to the Service Centre.

not to forget that you can upgrade the hard disk biggrin.gif
*
Er, not to forget, if you upgrade the hard disk itself, you will definitely void the warranty itself. Furthermore, try at ur own risk. laugh.gif

Yeap, after heavy use for some period of time, the fan will have some noise... But it wont happen all the while.. Just happen once a while.. If you felt that it's annoying, try to send in for check up =) blush.gif

first year warranty, you can send to sony center. for the extended warranty, you need to send back to best denki for warranty. and for this extended warranty, best denki actually send it to sony also but best denki bear the cost of repairing wink.gif

you need to set the power plan to max battery, i think hmm.gif

Vaio is so nice... much better than Dell in term of outlook and built quality. juz the pricing factor. But now sony has lowered their pricing scheme a lil bit especially CR series... go get it

maybe it will capped at 3gb (vista 32-bit detect). if im not mistaken only 64-bit support 4gb. no harm added 4gb though if your system configuration able to support 4gb ram.

As what mentioned by others, go sony center for the first year, the following years if you wish to claim the warranty itself, go Denki side to repair. ^^

Yea, for CR35 the max hours it can goes is 2.5 hours... actually depands on your usage.. Like what you mentioned, you using it for video purpose, of coz the battery used up faster compared to you used it for typing purposes.. Erm, to know furthermore about how to save your battery .. Go "Power Option", choose the mode that you prefer. ^^

Erm, at the mean time, Window Vista just can only read up to 3.5Gb Ram.. So, stil not recommend for you to upgrade to 4GB since you cant reallty fully utilize it yet.
Laptop RAm is diff with dekstop.

maybe you need to add more ram.
or you can check and disable unwanted startup program , accessing via search bar at windows menu by typing " msconfig". you can disable unwanted program like sonicstage if you dont use it; or replacing the given antivirus softaware (norton) with decent one. i dont really like norton due to memory resource it takes.

it is the 32bits windows cannot support 4gb, vista/xp 64bits can support.. wink.gif
