Saw someone on one of the FC facebook groups had them installed. If I remember correctly, costs the guy RM3-4k. So, if you want the lights, go for the TC-P.

because after market rim spec is not the same as OG rim.
even thou after market rim is much lighter than our OG steel rim.

Anyway, I am VERY tempted to change rim  cry.gif

Damn damn damn  cry.gif

U bought 1.8? If 1.5TC, the rim is nice enough la. If i were bought 1.8, I would wrap my leather seats and change the rim to 17". but scare it will void the warranty and deteriorate the speed / fuel consumption.

How old is your dad's FD1? as i know FD1 price has dropped very much since after new civic come out.

New facelift civic won't be soon coming out. If your dad can get FD1 sold at higher price, should consider to buy current one since now year end got huge discount for civic.
*
Almost 9 years.

Car still running very good and still smooth. Plus, still low mileage 107k

Will try to confess my dad change to new civic rclxm9.gif

Agreed. But abit JRD-ish the rims. Lol. When kilat kilat still not too bad. But once the black parts of the rim get a bit dirty. Looks abit cheapo IMHO.

I got no experience on car,  is tc engine have higher maintenance cost in long term?
*
There has been much discussion here on 1.5T vs 1.8 maintenance cost and also worries about the cost of maintaining a turbo engine.

Let's see the facts as stated in our Quick Guide Manual pages 18-21.
Below is the schedule for parts replacement. It is the same for both 1.5T & 1.8 except that 1.5T follows the Maintenance Minder for Engine Oil & Oil Filter:-

1. Engine Oil - every 10,000 km or 6 months
2. Oil Filter - every 20,000 km or 12 months

3. Air Filter - every 30,000 km or 1.5 years
4. Dust Filter - every 30,000 km or 1.5 years
5. CVT Fluid - every 40,000 km or 2 years
6. Brake Fluid - every 60,000 km or 3 years
7. Iridium Spark Plugs - every 100,000 km or 5 years
8. Fuel Filter - every 110,000 km or 5.5 years
9. Engine Coolant - every 200,000 km or 10 years.

Other facts on 1.5T vs 1.8:
- 1.5T lower fuel consumption
- 1.5T lower road tax (RM90 only)
- 1.8 lower insurance premium
- 1.8 cheaper tyre replacement cost.

Now you can make an informed decision.

To me, the turbo would most probably be only slightly more than the non-turbo in terms of maintenance costs.
Depending on the driving style, the turbo could even be cheaper from fuel savings.
And looking at the maintenance schedule above, the frequency of parts replacement is very low. Turbo looks affordable to me. smile.gif

Guys. Saw this post in the Civic X Facebook group. Can't embed the video or link it here though... Any of you face this issue? First time seeing this. Everytime the poster turns his stering wheel to the left or right, the HU will blink, aircond will restart and the power steering will become heavy. Seems like and electrical / cable issue. Might be a lemon unit coz never heard/read of this issue anywhere else.

Somebody commented that "a lot of civic kena", and the solution is to restart the HU... Any comments?

Got good news for people waiting for Waze to appear in Android Auto. Wait is almost over. Should get it in January 2017 or March 2017 at the very latest. Wonder what took them so long... I REALLY hope that Waze will also be supported on CarPlay too.
