QUOTE(thurtin @ Oct 13 2017, 11:44 AM) If you use a new chain, no problem. Don’t think you can reuse existing 11spd chains anyways. Need the narrower 12spd chains to work properly. correct. you can't use 11sp chains on 12sp setup. its the number of chain links i'm talking about.

QUOTE(kilazilla @ Sep 22 2017, 02:59 PM) Hi, any recommendation for bike cleaner/degreaser? Apart from muc off, what are other cheaper alternatives yea which is equally effective? Buy a bottle of GLO lemon (the liquid dishwashing soap) and mix 50/50 with water in a sprayer bottle. I'm using this and it works just like the branded ones.

I do know that never to use any of that on car paint surface. Anyway, just to share on this as well, I use a water-based engine degreaser from Mequiars.

Normally I apply to the chain, cassette and some dirty areas that might need extra scrubbing. Those normal dirt I just use water and sponge to clean it

I've been using this natural degreaser called Holy Cow for a while now. It's the heavy duty degreaser in a 1-gallon bottle. You can get from Ace Hardware for about RM70 to RM80. It's green in colour. Lasts quite a while, especially if you dilute it with water.

chain - i wash it with petrol. bling like new. the rest of the bike, im using Joy.. because it provides so much joy to me.. lol The truth is that, dishwashing liquid is gentle to the bikes, be it alu or carbon. Else, got a proper bike wash stuff ie muc-off

pakai kerosene or diesel better. petrol is too heavy on metal. ya i too use dishwash liquid as it works like charms. no issue on my bikes. for many years. WHat said on the dishwash not safe is just a marketing gimmick to avoid you from using and sell their own product to u.
