I've tried to apply for this card thrice now but still not luck of getting approved. I've no idea why. I've been a Maybank user for so long not to mention all transactions (bill payments, loan payments) is done via Maybank and my salary goes into Maybank but they still reject where as for CIMB, I've no used my CIMB account since ages but when I applied, within a week it was approved.

Anyone knows if it's possible to appeal ?

Email them and follow as below.

try appeal by

1) split credit limit from existing mbb cards. note: conventional card vs islamic card has separate credit limit
2) convert conventional card to ikhwan mastercard

on top of that, where possible for you, add more supporting income documents, e.g. epf statement, EA form, LHDN BE summary page, payslips (dont care if your pay is credited into maybank), etc.

Unfortunately, I don't hold any CC from Maybank yet and during my application, I did submitted all documents I had (6 months payslip, EPF, LHDN BE) even tho the Maybank CS said I didn't have to submit any documents as my salary is credited into Maybank.

Anyway, I meet all the requirements, CTOS and CCRIS is clear but still rejected which I find it fascinating for me.

Right after my Maybank CC application was rejected, I applied for CIMB and it's approved.

no idea what else is the cause of rejection. holding many cards? high debt? income level not justifiable with debt?

each bank has its own approval formula. approved by CIMB doesnt mean you're 'good' for Maybank

you can escalate this higher up to BNM and force mbb to disclose the reason.

Maybank gardens called. Card is ready for collection in 7 days time. Funny part is sms approval comes after the call.

No called for me from 1U card centre, only received SMS this morning that the card is ready for collection

Now I'm holding MasterCard ikhwan , if I go to branch to apply petronas visa without bringing any income document just ask them to share cl. Is it possible ka ? Or need to bring documents ?

Indeed it is. Well, I plan to maximise my CB but unfortunately this is rejected. Maybe will try again after 6 months.

You can go the longer way... go apply the Visa one first... after my Mastercard got rejected... i went to bank and submit form... for visa... got approved... then according to sharing from other forumer here... you can then request for credit split... which I did not do la... since I am quite ok with weekend Petronas 8% CB...

shoot them an email. they will pos laju it to your preferred address if approved.
