as a WC user myself,
1st of all, maintainance problem, takes lotsa times clean the loop...
2ndly, spend longer time to re-setup the loop if making change in hardware such as mobo.
for me myself, spent 10+ hours to resetup my rig from amd to intel c2d cause of time wasted on WC including rearrange all setup such as remounting blocks, cleaning radiator, cleaning blocks etc.
tougher cable mangement when adding hardware once the water cooling is done inside a case.
lot of hassle, need maintainance from time to time.... and also a risk of leaking if pump death, but normally shall be ok for 24/7 if loop is setup properly and leak tested.
Lastly, just some noticable increment over high end air cooling such as Thermalright IFX-14 + lapped base and IHS, i think at load temps its juz cooler than the IFX-14 or Xigmatek by few degrees, less than 10c i guess as my setup temps are quite high after several times of waterblock remounting and the thermalpaste seems spread correctly. my E8400 reaching 66c@4.05ghz@1.4125vcore(BIOS) at freaking hot room temp of 33c-35c at Cyberjaya during super hot noon, 56c at midnight(Full Load), from the result we can see that ambient temp does affect WC alot. and also the load to idle temp drop faster than air cooler. I saw a huge different when changing my old amd x2 proc to air cooler (CM GeminS), it cant even near the performance of my WC with GC at the same loop.
mayb i was on 10v downvolted pump and low cfm fans for the higher load temps.

ya..good info bro.. i may wan to add some.. i m interested to use WC. but, i m worried bout leakage... bcoz a alwiz moving my pc.. when i go back my hometown... move out n reassembler back so frequently.. is not good for my pc, ithink...

clamps the tubings properly will prevent that... just make sure ur casing doesnt tilt too much when moving should no problem... juz run a leaktest b4 on ur pc after moving around,,,

It would get rusted a bit and alga started to build up then eventually lead to performance decrement due to the reduced path ...

however it does take a long time for such situation to build up if a clean setup was done in the first place ...

Personally after twice attempt of using WC from low high jump to high end ..

I still feel that it's troublesome to maintain WC ...

In term of quietness, I won't argue which would be quieter between air and wc ..

From my experience WC is not at quiet as it seems to be ... unless pump and radiator are well hidden and isolated with noise reduction materials ..

My semi passive cooling setup is much more quieter than my wc setup ..

@Ryoga
Thanks ... hehe .. I still love my air cooling better ..

@rozz_1291
Have to tilt your case in different direction that get the bubbles lesser and have to stop and run the loop several times ..

hehe IcEMoCHa , thinking of goin water cooling ??? well if on q9450 not much to be gain as it limited by the proc itself.... but temp wise might be lower.......

i was thinking to go water cooling before, but after considering the hassle... give up... and 3870 come out at the right time for me to ditch my 8800GTS 320mb heat monster haha........

@IcEMoCHa
I'm not sure either how those stuffs form in specific ..

but one thing for sure when preparing the water cooling setup ..

keep the coolant and container of all those liquid free from dust and other material as much possible ..

@rozz_1291
That mean there's still some trapped bubbles here and there within the loop .. especially like radiator ... there's lots of air trapped within the pipes ...

@LExus65
8800GTS 320Mb consider fine loh ... look at GT and GTS 512Mb ..

those are really hot .. !!

Then how ar??? I manage 2 get da bubbles out 4rom da rad n y-coupling. But i can't seem 2 get it out 4rom da loop. It juz pass through da T-line n enter back da pump.... N it keeps on going..... n going...... n going..... Well, I guess using a T-line its not a gud thing.... sweat.gif sad.gif
