I don't have SCB CASA too.
It'll go back to your SCB credit card statement.

The description in e-statement is called "CASHBACK TO STMT"
You'll receive an email on the redemption titled "our CashBack To Statement Redemption is Successful"

So it is possible to cash out the Cashback to saving accounts?
Or cashback will go back to the credit card only.

Why do u want to cash back to savings? There's actually not much difference whether direct to credit card or to savings, except u get some money to spend if it goes to savings. U still have to pay your credit card later.

Go to credit card as cash back, u pay lesser to your card. Go to your savings, u pay full for your credit card. No difference.

why? any particular reasons?

cashback is not much, like rm50 or rm85 etc etc; so, what would you want to do with that small-ish amount?

your CCs still need to be fully paid, one way or another.

PBB rewarded me for RM25 per cc, something like they helped to pay the SST if I spend more than RM500 within 50 days. Not sure whether SCB will be that generous or not.

to get rebate, bank need to give you RMxx amount.

are you getting both? no, right?

offset is to counteract (something) by having an equal and opposite force or effect

I said offset with some rebate which means the rebate is used to offset the SST charges. As I know, banks never call it a waiver for SST because they are legally required to collect the SST on behalf of the government. Just like many users posted months ago, banks position some form of rebate for users to offset their SST charges.

Yes u can. Just ignore him. He is easily TL when people asks questions without using the search button, or dislikes it when people asks questions without trying to find out. He never thought that maybe some other people may have tried and knows it, but just didn't share out since nobody asks. He thought everyone is like him sitting in front of lowyat forum, will immediately share anything on the forum. Anyway he's a very informative person.

Anyway on your question, for whatever credit cards u have with whatever banks, you can definitely request for a SST rebate. Just make sure to use rebate instead of waiver, since nobody is allowed to waive taxes. Whether the bank wants to give u a rebate or not, is up to their discretion. But u can definitely call bank to request for SST rebate. No issues.

Have you read this last statement on "Whether the bank wants to give u a rebate or not, is up to their discretion."?

Stop whining here!
It's easy as you want to use the card, pay for it.
If you feel that you have been cheated and other banks are more generous in absorbing it, cancel the card and move on.

Not gonna call u to stop whining but David has a point there. Upto banks to decide lo. Like last time I used uob one card many years back, I call bank to waive my annual fee and give me sst rebate, they told me on the spot that they approve my annual fee waiver and sst rebate, for 3 years. Meaning every year waive annual fee and auto help me pay sst. Citibank pulak give me on yearly basis. Don't want give me straight 3 years. Haha nothing I can do. Every year call citi lo until I cancel, they say we can give u 3 years annual fee waiver and gst rebate, I told them now gst era, not annual fee jao no gst. Apa rebate. Direct cancel the card.

UOB has been generous in their retention offer.
However, they're not that generous in their acquisition offer which I'm a little TL (hokkien) with them!

In truth la, uob gave me a lot, for being my first credit card. When I first applied, agent give me free power bank, then approved give 2 giant luggage bag. Then use 1000 within 30 days, rm100 cash rebate. Direct swipe 1k pay my ACCA membership and paper. But then, they go down hill. Love the vox card + one card back then. Best in the market for online + petrol. Swipe ACCA get 5% cash back, get 100 cash rebate again. Happy die me

Just stating facts and not whining. Will be cancelling if there is no SST rebate since I only took up the card due to misrepresentation of existence of such rebate. Misrep is a major issue imho. Customers are always presented with not so true facts all the time to induce spending and signing up of products.

Seen numerous people sharing their rebate earlier so just checking around if the bank policy has changed. Even my good friend got her rebate just last week. FYI my cards are normal reward cards with no cashback so before anyone starts with this whole wanna earn cashback but refusing to pay SST part begin

Seriously shareholders of SCB here or members of the IRB? why so triggered by others trying to figure out this rebate thing? CS from live chat and call centre is giving me different info on their SST rebate and cancellation policy. one say cancel no SST then another say cancel also need to pay SST confused.gif

Isn't this forum suppose to be about sharing experiences? rolleyes.gif
