Normally how long does it takes for SCB to "reverse" the late interest charge ?
Would they reverse it ?

Has anyone tried pledging FD for the credit card recently? I went to uptown branch, they said can only pledge if you’re a priority customer, need to have 250k in FD!

Last my mum pledged 20k for a VI as she’s no longer working few years back.

And to be a priority you need hold 250k with them to be eligible.

Don’t think you need to hold 250k for other cards like JOP/LFC.

it sounds more like they want your big fund more than pledge small amount of FD and get you a CC

or maybe they are going the lazy path, you be priority banking customer, then you apply cc they can get you easier without any pledge or whatsoever. and meantime, they increase their customer base in priority banking... lol

Which priority banking will you go for?
Loungekey is quite attractive though.
Won't use SC card much anyway.

Why need pledging FD for a credit card? Use your salary slip, business proof to apply one.

Some people are not qualified due to age at retirement, no proof of income (documents) or countless rejection (due to CCRIS/CTOS/etc)

I think most is young people. For people retired (mayb > 60yo) why bother to apply cc after 60 years of not having it. just use cash. I believe old people are rich like boss. cool2.gif cool2.gif cool2.gif cool2.gif

Your statement is clearly violating age discrimination.

You have payslip or proper income poof doesn't mean all people should or must have it.
Your earlier post is another violation of biased discrimination.

blink.gif wew~ don't be so serious. We are just discussing ways of people applying for cc. I was rejected by banks too when applying for cc.

For what I know, if you have stable source of income, be it doing business or employment, its easier for bank to approve your cc. If unstable income, bank also don't want to take the risk lo...

doesnt matter what they do or have or whatnot.

if the age is accepted by bank, then they would process whether thru direct or pledging fd.

having cash doesnt mean having a credit facility from banks. there are various reasons for having credit facilities.

I got rejected, reason given is because I have a company credit card for company expenses, which the company pays for. However, it will still show up when the banks do a credit check, and Standard Chartered is very strict, according to the sales person, as long as your spending is more than 70% of your salary, it doesn't matter about whether you pay promptly / what assets you have / etc, you will be rejected. That's why I was asking about FD pledge.

My experience with SC was, they call my company and ask whether I am working here. The next day I got sms informing they approve my application.

For spending more than 70% of salary then reject? ermm... usually if there is not outstanding, suppose not be a problem....

hmm weird. credit cards never reject me. I have a company credit card with a credit limit of USD 20k. but of course I only use when on business trip.

as for personal expesnes through facilities, my spending is more than 100% of my salary (car loan + ptptn + insurance + amex + Barca + qmc) still SCB approves me. of coz most of those expenses are those I topup bigpay previously. lol

my friend has a housing loan, car loan and cards to roll bigpay too. SCB also approve him.

anyway as long as your credit rating is good, bank will give u the cards

Everybody's credit rating/history is subjective.
A's case may not be the same or work for B's case.

PSA: There's no "grace period" for SCB CC payment past due date.
