Guys, I applied the platinum one card 2 months ago. I have 2 issues here.

1) Was promised by dealer that i would get RM150 rebate upon signing up the card
Received sms that the RM150 rebate had been credited to my account.
Logged into my account and cant redeem it as it does not appear on the cashback page.

2) Monthly cashback does not appear on my statement. Although my expenses was less than 1k, there
should be some cashback too right? I used my card for online purchases and petrol, but no cashback on those reflected on my statement.

Why is it so hard to get a standard chartered cc?

First timer wants to get a CC, no loans, RM4.2k monthly and six figures in deposits, but still cant get standard chartered credit card.

Perhaps too fresh and too clean record on your CCRIS, try to get from local bank first or the bank your salary credited monthly.
My 1st cc was UOB, maybe you can try too. (without saving with them too)

1. No need login to redeem. The 150 cash back automatically offset ur outstanding balance. Please do check your unbill transaction history there.
2. When your purchase? Will only appear after 1 month. Eg : Jul spending, will be credited end of Aug.

It's normal for banks to reject your application if you don't have any credit history. Credit card is an unsecured debt, so giving it to someone with no credit history is quite risky.
As suggested before, you might want to try applying CC from the bank where your salary is credited.
If still no luck, you can apply for a secured credit card by pledging FD, since you have six figures of savings.

Received notification that card is approved, I'm getting the feeling that I'll also be getting 5k credit limit since HSBC just gave me relatively low limit as well. sweat.gif

Maybe won't be so unlucky like me.

I mentioned earlier that I forgot to pay on due date and got charged with RM 10 financial charges. sad.gif Then on top of that I still spent a lot after my due date, today got statement and was charged with RM 20.05 interest. cry.gif

Called SCB can only try to waive RM 10 financial charges but not interest. Lesson learnt for forgetting to set alert for payment. sad.gif Luckily got RM 110 cash back (RM 50 monthly cash back + RM 60 Uber cash back) makes me feel better but still... cry.gif

different people prefer different methods on bill payment reminders (set calendar recurrence, use personal finance app, excel tracking, rely on autopay (non CC) etc.)

I personally use excel tracking for all my payable bills and arrange by date sequence....

I use Outlook calendar but somehow I was too busy with projects and forgot to set for last month. doh.gif
Maybe I should do a re-occurrence calendar for all my cards.

Looks like new approvals will have this kind of limit.

Future payment is not feasible for me because I leave very little money in bank account. biggrin.gif I only withdraw my eGia-i fund when I need it. biggrin.gif
