QUOTE(myusuf8 @ Mar 15 2013, 10:02 PM) SLB recruiting people through out the year, but currently SLB is looking mid-career candidates. For fresh candidate, not really sure about it,but all depend to business needs, some segments don't have much jobs,so they don't hire new employee. You apply online 1st,from my experience online application is better, your 1st stage will be at Rohas (Group Dynamic). My advice, perform as best as u can during individual presentation & trust me ur sessions after will be easy.Group Dynamic is how SLB picks the potential candidate. The stages after that are just chit-chat.All the best....... Thanks for the information bro. Are you currently working with SLB?

QUOTE(syahmi_azri @ Mar 18 2013, 01:15 AM) I applied on the morning of the day through my career advisor in my university, by the end of the day i received a reply email. my career advisor said that i wont be doin engineering-related job in SBC, but I dont mind as long as I am associated with SLB. hahaha now im reading on the case studies for the upcoming interview, it is a whole new concept for me but i am up for the challenge. All the best to you! There's a very good book for case interviews called 'Case In Point'. Check it out

Hi all; Need some advice. I just completed my interview with Schlumberger for a finance position. They are unable to select me because i am quite reluctant to travel. The job requires posting for 3 months to any countries (at random ~ they don't know yet) at Middle East and Africa and I am quite concerned for my own safety. On one hand, I hate to let go of this opportunity but on the other hand, i am concerned about my own safety if i got posted to high risks countries. Do you guys have any advice on this?

Hi there, don't get too secure in your comfort zone. When you get too comfortable, you can become complacent and never grow or broaden your experiences. Staying may give you a secure life, but it can also be unproductive, dull and stagnant. Take the challenge..

At the moment SLB is very concern about their staff safety, you shall not worried about it. Statistic shows, it is easier to get accident rather than safety at any SLB operating countries.

After the three months placement (maybe in Middle East/ Africa ~ who knows???), i will be working at the KL Financial Hub (accounting shared service center). Just asking, how is life at the accounting shared service center??? This post has been edited by lostintransition: Mar 27 2013, 10:51 AM

I don't think it will be dangerous but sometimes things also do happen. But as long as you take precaution, the risk will be lower. It will be be interesting if you get to work in another country but if you are someone who is hesitant to travel, you may regret your decision. So it all really depends on what you really want. If you think you will like working in another country then go for it! Btw is the finance position with Schlumberger Financial Hub or is it Schlumberger WTA?

So after the 3 months posting, you will work permanently in KL? There will be no more overseas posting?

Guys,
How about leaving Schlumberger and go to Petrofac? What is pros n cons.
It is different job function, within engineering itself.
I m willing to take Petrofac offer as it offered 40% more than my current salary.
The rest, i quite like SLB, but due to many commitment, the offer seems too good to reject.
Any opinion?

Hi guys, do anyone of you have any idea, What's the edge of being a master holder in engineering for a fet? Does it gives you the leverage of requesting higher salary after grade 12? Or faster career growth after gfe?
