How do we know if the nvr is dead or the hard disk is dead?
I'm using an old nvr coaxial cable rg59 with 2/3 nos of dome shape camera.
When i switch on the lights on the nvr indicate power on, hdd blinking but the record got no light. So is the nvr broken?
What would be a budget nvr capable to record real time with good resolution to capture video on cashier machine.

depends on your existing camera or are you willing to change everything?

Most probably in stages. if the dvr are ko, then might as well change to a better dvr then later change one good camera for the cashier machine.

do you know what camera are yours currently? normally it's cheaper to buy package then either dvr/camera alone?

It's just a normal dome type with led around the camera. Being in service for around ~8/9 years.
Just need 1no of good/great resolution 1080 or better 4k on the important place. Others camera hopefully can use back the current dome shape
No need ip, just need record video and view.
Wondering if include voice, what will be the different in pricing?

good voice camera is more expensive. i guess you need buy a 4k dvr and change the counter camera to 4k with mic.

Any recommendations on the dvr and camera with and with out voice.

Actually I do IP only but I remember my friend did installed a 4k cvi @ a clinic and the audio not bad.

Btw, sometimes a dying 12V dc adapter also will have this missing hdd symptom. If you have spare just try your luck.

For Rm500 can get 1no of 4k dvr and one 4k bullet, can consider it a good budget 😀
Will the wiring from my old dome shape camera using rg59 cable compatible with this new bullet camera. Can easily disconnect the old and reconnect the new?

Do i need 2TB or 2 × 2TB of Hdd?

1Tb is enough but no harm using 2 because new dvr nowadays is using H.265 encoding. 4k Hdcvi can use your existing RG59, just plug & play, audio also via RG59.

Hi guys, i plan to install an outdoor ip camera with infrared, anyone can recommend anything like xiaomi smart camera that can detect human motion and got infrared and can connect wifi?

Can look for these brands: IMOU, Ezviz, Reolink.

Reolink is the best choice.

Currently using CCTV from more than 5 years ago. 8 channel generic brand DVR, 4 camera using DASDMC DMC-620L and another 4 using HDPRO HD-N678DSI

the quality of the video is just terrible for todays standard. I received a quotation from a CCTV installer with this spec



Is there any better option for this price or maybe even cheaper? I googled about the 5mp AHD camera but cant find much regarding its video quality, and I need a setup that can replace the current cctv camera that is already installed without the need of much rewiring if possible

If you DIY very much cheaper. AHD sucks go for TVI.

Model DS-2CD2143G0-IU is close but missing the Pan/tilt.
Model DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3/W seems perfect but price is too high...

Reolink all 9 x 5MP only RM1800 if DIY.

2.2K gaodim, branded system some more.

if u want PTZ, cheapest model will be DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 .. around RM600.

No built in microphone for this specific model.

Any other brand of camera that can offer such features?
