QUOTE(nabilishes @ Oct 9 2019, 10:21 PM) Can these cameras EZVIZ by Hikvision C3W or HikvisionDS-2CD2041G1-IDW1 connect to a NVR/DVR unit wirelessly? Any recommendations for the DVR unit? Yes, just use any HIK DVR/NVR.

Please stop using power socket for CCTV. Go for solar now. Robbers can't cut off the sun to power your CCTV.

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 16 2019, 03:50 PM) Please stop using power socket for CCTV. Go for solar now. Robbers can't cut off the sun to power your CCTV. If a robber can turn off the power socket, he can also smash off the camera easily whether it is solar/non-solar. Unless you are talking about using whole house solar setup which is in different level. If anyone has concern for power socket to be off by robber, simply make sure both socket and camera are high enough. Or, just use a battery powered ip camera but there is hassle to recharge it especially when camera is placed high. This post has been edited by Snoy: Oct 16 2019, 04:21 PM

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 17 2019, 11:35 AM) Solar powered cctv are running on rechargeable battery. It's not about power source. Robber may smash down (or spray) the camera whether it is solar battery or grid powered. The key is the camera must be placed high enough first... when it is high, power socket can be high too. Battery powered camera is difficult to maintain when the camera is placed high.

If lucky, then just keep running.

Yes, my solar camera hardly use for 3 months, the lens blur. Also the WiFi not very consistent. If install high up will be damn trouble sum.

Hi all, Trying to figure out cctv setup for my house. I have laid Cat6 cables during renovation with 2 outdoor and 2 indoor. I have checked taobao is selling package deal for very attractive price, a HIK Vision NVR with 4 nos IP 4mp night vision camera costs only about RM1.3k, excluding the HDD. Is there any catch for buying china set other than the OS language is in Chinese. I read there is some concern with IPC(?), may i know what is that?
Thanks.
