You can buy Alexa Echo show 1st Gen and place it nearby. Second hand now is around 50usd. You can initiate drop-in function & can see & talk with them.

I'm looking to install 4 CCTV at my home, to monitor the outside mostly as nowadays the area in my neighborhood getting much more dangerous with more break-ins.

Most of the time there's no lights, but we do keep them on at times.

There's no power source nearby, and probably need to pull some cables here and there.

Can someone hook me up with a good deal for the package? KL/Selangor area.

Looking for the standard package, nothing really overkill, as long as it has the most common features (recording, can check online etc).

If just DVR issues, change it. Price is crazy cheap nowadays. You can also try replacing the adapter. Dying adapter sometimes will also cause DVR to reboot.

Go for H.265 HIK, Dahua or TVT. Camera can consider 5Mp, very cheap also.

Then have to tap the power source from lights. And you should look for the standalone WIFI Ipcam

I have got .DAV files exported from CCTV recording. Then I tried to use Dahua's General Player to convert it to .AVI, which resulting in Windows 10 failed to recognize its output .AVI. (However, I managed to convert the problematic .AVI to .MP4 using Format Factory, a file format converter)

Is there anyway to playback the .DAV file on Windows 10 directly? If not, what is the fastest way to convert the .DAV to popular video file format?

Why not just use the Dahua player to play back on Windows 10? Smart player or whatever it’s called - works fine for me.

Or you can drop it into YouTube if you need to share it etc. works fine for DAV files

Vlc & media player classic with kcodecs can playback .DAV files last time. That was during h.264. Lately never try.
