I am planning to get a used Suprima S 2014 soon, I am semi spirited driver, I saw someone on youtube saying using pedal shift is a major no on Suprima because it will accelerate the CVT kong. Is it true?
Some say it can be used safely but when performing manual shifts, it should not be done beyond 4000 rpm. I would say it is not healthy if the driver is very aggressive with manual shifting, otherwise it should be fine to use
Just don't expect it to be as nice as a DSG or even a normal auto

What do you think of a Proton Suprima which is being serviced and maintained by Proton authorised service centre went kaput just after 5 years with mileage below 150,000km? The damage is so bad that you have to change the whole engine and cost you a bomb? This is what happened to my 5 years 1 month old Proton Suprima. (exactly one month after my warranty ended)
When you asked them to compensate something, they just said that my warranty has ended. So the car is a junk now. Proton quoted me Rm23, 000++ to change the whole thing.
Think of getting a Proton? Forget about it.
Did the timing belt break or something?
Also typically authorized service centres are not as flexible as the official ones. Try dropping a mail to proton we care and see if they can help, since you had your car maintained by proton for all this time
Alternatively outside workshops can probably have your engine repaired for less than 10000 probably, maybe even half of that
