FYI, this is what Maybank FB reply me when I ask about bringing credit cards to foreign countries.

Kindly be informed that there is no activation needed for credit card retail overseas transaction. For credit card usage via the overseas online website or overseas, there will be additional charge 2.25% (VISA and Mastercard) on top of the purchase while for AMEX card will be 2.5% on top of the purchase amount.

Generally, there will be a PIN usage of credit card and it is subject to the country and merchant acceptance, as an example for Australia and some European Countries, you may be required to key in your Credit card PIN number. However, there are several countries are still not using the PIN & Pay method. Thank you.

Expected answer. smile.gif
They also told me the same via phone. There was another guy reported here, was told the same and yet Maybank still called him in overseas. smile.gif
I just want to have peace of mind for my travels and make it as a habit to call banks. Though I dislike but I have to, just call few banks for me, the rest I keep back home. biggrin.gif

If u call cs to inform, they will ask if you're roaming your phone number. I always say no. They say ok.

1. By default, your card is ready to be used overseas. But will be nice let them noticed you are out of country and avoid fraud just in-case.

2. 1-800 toll-free is FOC from Celcom/Digi/Maxis. 1-300 not so worth using cellphone. Otherwise, call their landline.

Noted. For my peace of mind I will call too. Forgot to mention that I won't be using roaming as well since they can't call in.

Hello all, anyone got try paying PTPTN using AMEX cc via this website ??(this)
1) My default montly payment is RM 183.78.

2) So if I click the default amount and proceed, it will go to the payment page. (Which is no issue)

3) But let say I pay more than default amount, if I proceed to next page, it will come out error as stated in item (4).

its a "normal". there is a bug in their system that dont allow you to pay more then the stated montly amount. u will have to pay twice instead if you wish to pay more.

Yes can, when I told them I'm always travelling. They said just call them and inform in advance of my plans. The thing is I know I will always travel but not sure when especially I always travel on last minute basis.
So, if you have confirmed schedule can inform them in advance.

For me this is my 2nd card perhaps bank need to see some kind of credit activity...i only apply for gold card because i only want the amex card tongue.gif.

My card arrived yesterday but too bad im not at home to open it tongue.gif need to wait for 2 more weeks before i come back. M2U so easy can straight away change pin no & activate card. Since I applied for the card i always peeped out on any shop if they can accept amex. Not much over here in sarawak though sad.gif candidly asked if i pay dinner at a hotel using amex they said it will include extra 4%...is tat true?
