Kindly be informed that there is no activation needed for credit card retail overseas transaction. For credit card usage via the overseas online website or overseas, there will be additional charge 2.25% (VISA and Mastercard) on top of the purchase while for AMEX card will be 2.5% on top of the purchase amount.

Generally, there will be a PIN usage of credit card and it is subject to the country and merchant acceptance, as an example for Australia and some European Countries, you may be required to key in your Credit card PIN number. However, there are several countries are still not using the PIN & Pay method. Thank you.

They also told me the same via phone. There was another guy reported here, was told the same and yet Maybank still called him in overseas.
I just want to have peace of mind for my travels and make it as a habit to call banks. Though I dislike but I have to, just call few banks for me, the rest I keep back home.
