Not yet charged I supposed. If qualified will have waiver. Or if you have other Maybank cards, they may follow their expiry date instead.

My MBB VS approved 5 Nov. Expiry on card May 22 (flw my MBB2 cards). Called up CS and ask when they will charge annual fee, she said Nov 2017 . So I guess it is safe to say that they flw the anniversary date of the approved date. (called up twice to speak to 2 diff CS to be sure ) rclxms.gif

If there are other retail transactions after AF charged, banks normally won't cancel.

I just called to redeem my VS TPs for cash rebate and cancelled my card at the same time. CS told me that annual fee waiver after cancellation is up to management discretion as there are usage for AF has been charged in my case.

Nop i call in for waiver after it shown on M2U. They rejected the waiver after a week and i request for cancellation. Reversal and tp transfer took about 3 days. I just need to pay my usage thats all.

Thats wht the CS told me years before, its some sort of acceptance to the annual fee if you charged the card AFTER the annual fee is imposed.

I am unsure whether you all are aware of this or not.

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

Annual Fee
Principal: RM550, FREE for the first year. Subsequent years FREE if spend a min of RM30,000 and above per annum

It is a great news, if the minimum spending to get annual fee waiver is officially lowered from RM50,000 to RM30,000. rclxms.gif Plus, one notable member managed to get the annual fee waiver, even with annual spending of about RM20,000, purely on grocery and petrol transactions.

Thanks for the update. Ahhh if I had known about this earlier I would have planned my spending a little better. 30k is much more achievable.

I spent 45k and didnt qualify for the waiver. Cancelled the card just last week after my waiver request was declined. Weird that they didn't entertain my request since they reduced the AF waiver.

Wow - that's such bad timing! I'd be pretty annoyed, especially since RM45k is close to RM50k, and way above RM30k!
