Felt like second class citizen to Apple here.
No Apple Pay while so many countries have it. Don’t have from ECG feature and HRV feature on Apple Watch. Don’t have Applecare+ in our Malaysian Apple products. No official Apple Store, instead we have to deal with Authorized resellers. Anyone still remember the iPhone5 fiasco where our Malaysian units come out of the box with scratches and scuff while Apple will not honour warranty unless you purchased from Apple Online? |

So long since Apple Pay was announced and the local banks here still not supporting it. So disappointing!

I heard it’s because the banks here don’t want to pay the high commission cost for Apple Pay. Perhaps someone from the banking industry could confirmed.

QUOTE(treblecase @ Dec 21 2018, 03:03 PM) This is probably part of why though. Since there’s so much competition already, unless the potential profits/market share are/is huge they won’t bother. The legal/regulatory factor is not getting any easier as well. Lots of costs involved there. Really wish they’d come in though. The local e-wallets are nowhere near as convenient (other than PayWave with cards and (some say) Samsung Pay). |

i've used Apple Pay Suica (Japanese version of TnG) during my vacation in Japan, it was really convenient! I can just tap my phone to make my purchase and take public transport with it. The only thing that i can't do is reload on the go, as Apple Pay doesnt support our credit card.

If you buy Apple product in Malaysia, after-sales support definitely sucks big time and you are stuck with third party authorized resellers. But if you are in 1st world country, like Singapore or Australia, you get 1st class service!

After living in the US for a few years and recently coming back home after graduation, I really miss using my Apple Watch to pay for groceries, petrol and even ramen. Hopefully they get it sorted out soon enough.
