Thanks for the suggestion. JJ hotel is abit out of budget.
It's quite expensive. Expecting max rm130 per pax. Haha.

QUOTE(Angelpoli @ Sep 29 2017, 09:46 PM) Thanks for the suggestion. JJ hotel is abit out of budget. Why is it expensive? My booking at JJ Hotel was at RM1,410 for 6 nights, 2 pax. Per pax is only RM117 or so. It's below your budget of RM130 per pax. It's quite expensive. Expecting max rm130 per pax. Haha. I'm extra cautious in HK because the accommodation is usually small and I have been pre-warned by several friends about cleanliness and bed size, which could be very small, making it uncomfortable. I choose "comfortable" places with decent rates because I wouldn't want to wake up with aches or discomfort as it's a long day when you get up. If you don't wake up feeling fresh or good, it'll be a a tough day ahead. Just my 2 cents. QUOTE(Gene_89 @ Oct 2 2017, 12:09 AM) haha super hot... 35 degree celcius leh the highest i encounter. Yea most of the time I'm sweating at Hong Kong.... So goodnya bump into artist. We didn't get to see them. Ughhhh it's madness, I've become tan! And really very hot, worse than Malaysia. Well, comparable hahahaha. Btw, may i know which hotel/guesthouse u book? Cuz 3 of us guys I think we booked on a wrong guesthouse. Full of Indians and super tiny the room. We stay in Chungking Mansion. But in the end, survive also lah. Haiz~ gotta book more expensive hotel/guesthouse next time. Bumped into 3 artists, managed to take photo with 1. 2 others are less well-known. Keep your eyes open bigbiggg And nice to hear you've got some good experience with local. I had mostly good interaction with the locals, with 1-2 more negative ones. But I doubt I'll go HK any time soon or in at least 1-2 years. I really really dislike the culture of them smoking anywhere they like especially while walking or looking over a beautiful scenery at Tsim Sha Tsui. CNY season i think will be nice ya! I'm sure it's very 'yit lau' (meriah) there. And you could probably experience the local way of celebrating. Wah you stayed in Chung King area... I heard it's quite "mixed" ya the place. How much was it per night? I stayed in JJ Hotel. I have checked countless hotels including AirBnB and also ran through hundreds of reviews of Hotels before deciding on JJ. Several reasons for choosing this place: 1. The room appear decent in photos. The beds looked 'big enough' as I heard the beds in Ibis is small - this was personal feedback by friends who stayed in Ibis. True enough, it was nice and comfortable. 2. Value for money. Based on a max budget of RM120 per pax per night, it's very hard to find a decent place in HK coz the accommodation there is expensive. Plus, I prefer to stay in HK Island which friends say are less "zap" (less complicated/ messy). 3. Location was good - It's along the main street (rather than some lorong). Easy to find and recognize. There's a 24-hours Yoshinoya next to it and 7-11 down the road. You don't have to worry about going hungry or feel afraid as you walk home late, with most shops closed. In fact, the bus stop is just 30sec walk and MTR is 5min away. Very convenient. Friend and I took the bus quite often because it's easy. Don't have to worry about missing your stop because there's LED in the bus that shows which stop is next, in both Chinese and English. If there's anything negative about the Hotel: - There's no hair dryer haha. We both have short hair so it doesn't bother us too much. - The bathroom is glass. So among friends, you gotta bring the blinds down and up whenever you use the loo or bathroom coz even the door is glass. - Air cond has a soft noise; doesn't bother with sleep though. Just to manage expectation if you're considering JJ. It is located in the same building as Karaoke for VIPs (other floors) and something related to gambling. I think the whole building has about 20 floors but the Hotel is only 3-4 floors. But it never bothered us because there's no noise from these activities nor do I see suspicious people. There are always security or people who opens the door for us as we enter the building. It's a nice decent building, not old and dingy btw. It's about RM113 per pax per night. If I ever return to HK, I will go back to this Hotel. It's value for money and comfortable to stay in. There's also a good coffee shop opposite, which I had my breakfast for 5 days in a row This post has been edited by sweet_pez: Oct 2 2017, 05:59 PM |

Their portion is huge. For small eaters, a set breakfast at char chan teng can be shared. What I noticed was their set usually includes: - Macaroni soup - Eggs + toast - Drink (coffee/ tea) Price: $38 +$2 for cold drinks = $40 I had the above for 5 days (haha!) and I can only finish half of my macaroni. It's sad to waste food. So after 2 days of that, I ordered the set that only comes with eggs + toast with drink. |

During my last travelling to HK, we stay at this hotel. https://goo.gl/maps/zGcbEPLSZhq Mostly will thought it far from city, but with HK MTR system and their public transport, we can reach Ocean park within 1 hour. We usually take bus 86K to Sha Tin station. (There are bus station in front of the hotel). Once you reach Sha Tin station, you can take MTR to place you want to go. Hope this help. |

That is my first reaction when my friend booking this hotel. I think especially for tourists who wish to travel around, looks like Sha Tin is not a good idea? But fall in love with that hotel once step into hotel room. Room is spacious and price is reasonable. Maybe we also go to Shen Zhen for 3 days, we can go to Lo Wu by Sha Tin Station. Sha Tin is between city and Lo Wu, that is the reason my friend choose this hotel. Also riverbank in front of the hotel, is good place for relaxing and morning walk. Following is our 10 days trip 1st Day - 9pm reach Macau, after dinner, about 12am, go back hotel to sleep. 2nd Day - 9am go to The Venetian until 3pm, then go to Ruins of St. Paul's. 6pm, take ferry to HKG, go to hotel and dinner at BBQ Kingdom (next to our hotel) 3rd Day - Shopping at Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui 4th Day - Ngon Ping 360, Tian Tan Buddha, Tai O and Mui O (take ferry back to Central) 5th Day - Ocean Park 6th Day - Sham Shui Po, Central and The Peak 7th Day - Shen Zhen 8th Day - Shen Zhen 9th Day - 12pm reach HKG hotel. Last min shopping at City link, Shatin plaza and New town plaza (Few shopping mall link together and near to our hotel). Dinner at Kam Sha Kok dai pai dong near our hotel 10th Day - bye bye HKG |
