QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Jun 6 2017, 10:24 AM) Have not been there for Summer and I'm not keen Try the cherries, ume and peaches! They are in season during Summer! http://www.japan-talk.com/jt/new/japanese-fruit QUOTE(sacwoc @ Jun 6 2017, 11:51 AM) You can do a search in the internet for schedule of all the fireworks. I am sure they have it in the internet especially those big ones in Odaiba or Akasuka. For now it seems the events for August are still not listed. Missed the Music Festival just by a day, dang that sucks. August will be very hot in Tokyo. I always dread going to work as when I reach office I will be drench with sweat. Unlike MY we take Public Transport and most buses/train temperature at set to 27C. Most of my trips are short and centred around only in Tokyo. If it's around 26C - 31C as well I can handle that. I've had worse heat but not as humid as the weather report shows. Thanks, I'll remember to stay hydrated. |

The humidity is totally different from KL. It is even worse than the summer in Melbourne which can hit 40C. So yes, do stay hydratedFor now it seems the events for August are still not listed. I might be able to catch the Samba Festival in Asakusa in 28th. Matsuri and the chance to see yukata babes are the only reason why I'm not just gonna let the ticket burn. If I have to suffer at least let me scoop some goldfish! |

Hi Folks,
Japan trip for April is what I had in mind for next year. First of all, I'm looking either to buy JAL or ANA or VN. I've flown ANA and VN before and both are just great. I'm arranging a trip for 6 adults and 2 toddler, below 2 y.o. I believe the weather there in Japan is rather comfortable for the kids as well. The trip will be consist of 12 days. And the adults want to go USJ and Disneyland, it's the first time for them. Hence, I would have to include Osaka & Tokyo as part of the plan. Initially I have in mind is to arrive in Osaka and enjoy the USJ theme park. Then next would be Kyoto through JR Shinkansen and lastly arrive in Tokyo before depart back to KL. Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo But the flights, I would have to find landing in Osaka and fly back from Tokyo. Not sure if ANA, JAL or VN has the best price for these flights schedule. Mostly from what I saw at ANA and JAL were either Osaka or Tokyo return flights. Has anyone had the similar travel plan or itinerary for this route? |

Also from Osaka-Kyoto, you dont need to take the shinkansen. Normal JR train can take you there in less than an hour. |

Normal JR train can take you there in less than an hour. As for the Osaka-Kyoto, I'm looking forward to purchase the 7 days JR Pass to travel from Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo. Hence I guess using it should be quite worth it when I starts to depart from Osaka heading to Kyoto and then Tokyo. However, I would first have to find flights and pricing wise to fit in the schedule of KL-Osaka,Tokyo-KL. If the pricing is too expensive, I would have to opt KL-Osaka-KL or KL-Tokyo-KL return flights from a single location. |

Keatsan I did a 9d osaka/kyoto/nara/tokyo trip before (fly in to osaka, fly out of tokyo) also in april.
itinerary / write up on blog: http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2013/04/ja...three-days.html (caveat -- this was many many years ago). since you're doing 12 days you can have more time to do a better coverage of kyoto and tokyo than i did (those 2 places i really just touch n go saja) |
