I've been to Takaragawa Onsen during December
Hence im looking for somewhere similar or better around Jan to Mar.

I'll read through your blog and may use yours as a reference. I think I would spend more time in Kyoto this time. My previous trip, I spend a lot of time in Tokyo instead. Surrendered Proposed to my wife there and therefore Tokyo most of the time.

I think with 12 days, should be more ease in Osaka & Kyoto. Tokyo on the other hand should be visiting streets and shop a little bit.

Intercity flights may be an option as well. But having to move the luggage bags through airport may end up forking up more money I'm afraid. That's why I'm listing out flights from ANA, JAL, VN, Cathay, MAS & SA flights. Gotta scout around their pricing within the fly in and fly out. Lots of variables and time to consider.

guys, i am travelling to Japan early of Nov. But my flight reach Haneda Airport about 11PM local time. I have 2 kids (3+ & 2+) and 6 adults travelling together. Any suggestion on :
1) Accommodation (either hotel or airbnb)
2) How to travel to suggestion #1?

you are asking suggestion on your 1st night or the whole trip?

actually it is still possible to take the last train out of haneda airport 1 just have to be no delay out of plane, take luggage straight go immigration. toilet need to be fast also. if you don wish to rush then quite a lot of hotel nearby airport which provide free pick up at airport also.

if you are asking bout whole trip then big group look like more suitable using airbnb and cheaper also....

Actually i plan to stay 1 or 2 nights max at Tokyo area then travel down to Mt Fuji & Kyoto/Osaka for next few days tour.

Guys, need a few opinions/feedbacks

1. Alot of review of osaka castle is overrated - especially going in. But since i will be for spring, just wanna go take pictures of cherry blossom and not going in.

2. What time does shops/department shops/eateries close in Shinbashi and Dotonbori?

3. Any suggestion for what to do if we arrived around 5pm in Osaka? I planned Harukas 300 deck to see sunset and night lights of Osaka and then dinner in Dotonbori and walk shinbashi shops. (If they dont close around 9pm)

4. For osaka/kyoto which attraction for you is overrated? Or which attraction i would prefer to spend more time.

"Overrated" or not depends on individual likes or dislikes also leh. Example I'm a huge aquarium fan so I really enjoyed Osaka aquarium even though it's not really better than Aquaria KLCC or Singapore's aquariums.

Then in Kyoto I visited the geisha dance thing (miyako odori) and it was interesting for like 5mins and then boring as heck after that -- but cos i got no interest in that kind of thing.

Like kaiyukan, I am confirm going because I am also big fan of aquariums although some ppl say entrance fee is expensive and not worth going

1. I also did not visit Osaka castle. When I was there.
3. Harukas go toy section go see the train toys nice. I go here for my daughter aikatsu only.
4. For Kyoto if u have time go with the tour. One of the castle tour was so informative. See how samurai build castle to prevent enemies attack. The tour guide will share. I will not encourage if u have kids along.

Bro I stayed in granvia osaka hotel got discount tickets to kaiyukan and USJ. Anyway is already paid with those room prices.
Even the train nozomi Osaka to Tokyo also discount. Some of your advice is so true. You cannot feels the speed how fast. Just save time in 2hrs+ arrived Tokyo and can see mount fuji along the way.

Please share with me anyone knows which Kansai pass to buy if I visit shiga, mie, wakayama on kosei line to biwako? Please advice. The last time I did not travel so much in Osaka. But this year I going again to those places. Going for ohmi beef.

1. the notable mention is the top floor observation floor, where u can see the surrounding. other than that, its museum n historical stuff. nothing much mentioning.

4. i would spend more time at Kyoto, for the nature n historical building/temple.

Besides hotel vouchers/discount, if for those wanna go Osaka Aquarium, do consider the following passes. They have few passes or bundle which will be worth to get.

Thanks for the feedback. I havent really started planning my kyoto yet. We will arrive Osaka and now researching what to do and if nothing much for us, we will just spend 2 days and move to other places like kyoto/kobe/himeji/Nara.

Because my flight reach KIX around 3pm and by the time we check in its prolly 5pm. Maybe we wanna go one spot and then come back to Dotonbori for dinner. Estimated after dinner will be around 8pm++ to 9pm and doubt we can cover Shinbashi if shops close around 10pm.

Nishiki market and tsukiji fish market is definitely on my list. But we havent plan kyoto yet. As for Osaka, we will be going Kuromon market at nipponbashi.

Did you go shinsekai for their battered skewers? It seems only famous food there just that. Not sure worth making a trip just for it.

ate at Kichi-kichi,
omurice is so-so, come with 2 size, normal, n half size.
i ate half size n kurokke. kurokke has my thumbs up. price mostly goes into his omurice cooking show.

make sure book (simple n easy).
they wont let u in even if there is empty place there, until they serve all their reserved customer, only then they let u in. 1 hour for each between dine session.

i booked for the seat. just wait for time (make sure ur punctual), n no need to queue, just go in order/makan.

Good news ^____^ Ghibli Museum in Mitaka has special exhibit! Too bad it wasn't last year, otherwise I would have been able to see it. Love the Museum, totally love-struck at the place!
