i believe if we are really interested in collecting amulets, we must always be aware lor...better get some knowledge before getting the amulets...for example, sometime people will say this somdej is made by Ah Zhan Do about 100 years...but guys, Ah Zhan Do passed away more than 130 years already, do u think he can do it ? I believe every amulets collector must be able to investigate before getting any amulets lor. hai mai sin ?

Most of the amulets are bringing you good luck and help you can go smoothly in term of carier of whatsoever...of course, it can protect you from some danger incidents also...basically, Jatukarm generally can help you to change your luck from bad to good...but, usually it is not necessary to beg jatukarm to give u anything, he will give it to you naturally when he feels wanna give you...this is so far what i understand about jatukam...anyone wanna add in something...

Cool. I used to collect a lot of amulets mostly brought back from my thai friend.
I like to collect Luang Por Thuad especially those from Wat Chang hai and those from Luang Por Daeng(with a lot tangkai inside and with funny name like chek chek kam ma kam). I was so obsessed with it the old days and spent all my money and time in reading the magazine and recognize all the achan, their wat and their famous batch of amulet. But i almost forget all of them now except some very famous one. QUOTE(eg_9525 @ Jan 30 2007, 07:37 PM) ![]() This is Achan To from Wat Rakang. He made the most expensive amulet in the world ever i think. His somdej Wat Rakang is a bomb. ![]() I still remember this one Luang Por Ben who sits on tiger. There is another Luang Por who sit on 2 tiger and a snake but i forgot his name. And dont believe in many of the so called experts tell you about this and that. I met too many uncle and even thai monk who told me they had more than 200 years old Luang Por Thuad and some even want to sell it to me. In fact the very first batch of Luang Por Thuad was made in 2497(1954) by Achan Tim(Wat Chang Hai, white elephant temple) with the help of Achan Nong from Wat Sai khao. Anyway no collector of local amulets? There are quite some well known one in Malaysia too and much more cheaper like Chao Kun Pao, Tok Raja and the butterworth LuangPor Win. I didnt know LP Win just passed away few months back. R.I.P. His tangkai was so so famous those day after all his legendary rumuor and the police officers that ask him to stop issuing tangkai. I was away from BM so long and never heard of monks and amulets for many many years already. All my precious amulet and include LP Win Tangkai also got steal away by my friends and my mother given the rest away to my uncle who dont know shit about amulet without my permission. I was so damn pissed after i found out but it was already too late. He sold some of my Luun Nuen (First batch) amulet and so many of my LP Thuad. V3i HoN6, i think you are right. I also dun see that is khun paen to me as well. If both of us not wrong, the master is not LP Sod, it's actually LP Ban, Wat Ban Nong Ko, Ayuthaya. If it's genuine from him, this amulet worth about RM 10,000 to RM 20,000 in the market now. This monk usually made those amulets like somdej on top and the bottom is either cock, eagle or haruman. I also can't see that amulets clearly.
Sad to hear about your story, but luckily i'm always staying alone and don't let anyone touch my stuffs. Just because of that, all my amulets, tangkai and even lots of statues are all well protected by me.. Added on February 3, 2007, 3:10 amBy the way, just for your info. LP Win actually passed away last year about Oct 2006. The temple kept his body for 100 days. This post has been edited by kschong: Feb 3 2007, 03:10 AM |

Frankly, I really got no idea whether your amulets are made by LP Tim or not, because LP Tim is quite famous in doing Khun Paen and he has made quite a lot of model. Sorry I can't answer your question. If you are talking about side effects, basically, as long as these are genuine amulets from the monk..shouldn't be any problems. May I just check with you, where you get these amulets ? Do these amulets come along with script when u get it ? Anyway, it's all depends how you use it and how you respect them. Any specific purpose you use them for ? The side effect is subject to how you use them only! Hope you are using them at the right angle. Good Luck! Other than Khun Paen, any other amulets you have with u ? |

Somehow I met a fellow through forum and he knows that I'm seeking for KhunPaen, so he offered me these three amulets for free, choose either one. He said that two of them are belong to the 偏 side and one 正.
I'm not sure is it genuine anot, from his information the amulets are from thailand temple and he is not willing to tell me the price because he said it is very expensive! Now I'm in dilemma, should I trust what he said? |

My advise is don't simply go and believe ppl la...especially for those very expensive amulets, better don't buy online coz there are lots of people trying to cheat here...this is true and lots of people kena before. but one thing for sure is there is no dedicate amulets for 偏 or 正, it's depends how u use it. Back to the question, what type of business are u doing now ? if you are doing something legally, what for you wanna get the amulets for 偏 ? but if just for collection purpose, then shouldn't be any problems lor.
If you are doing normal business, i will suggest you to take somdej lor. Based on my knowledge and understanding, the khun paen that u posted, 2nd and 3rd one is actually for 偏 one. The meaning of skeleton will hide you when something happened during something happened urgently. The 3rd one is more suitable for those "kuai gong" for prostitution business lor, coz gals will stick to you and listen to you. I even saw one khun paen with 9 skeleton at the bottom of khun paen ler.. and that khun paen is actually made by LP Tim as well. So, please do consider nicely and carefully before proceed lor. I'm just sharing my knowledge and experience here to everyone, but anyway, it's quite hard to explain everything through typing only... Anyone wanna correct me here is i'm wrong... Added on February 4, 2007, 3:31 amOf course, please check with him who made the amulets and from which temple...that is very important....dun end up buy something from pasar road la....be careful! But he said he is giving out for free eventhough it is expensive. You are correct, the second and third one belongs to the so called 偏 side. Decided not to touch it, 所谓玩火自焚 阿弥陀佛 Back to the first picture, I believed it is Somdej not Khunpaen. What do you think my friend? |

powerfull? this is a very subjective topic. is actually depends how you look at it only. everyone needs and desires all differents. is really depends how you percieve it. if you belive in it and you'll gain the power... am I right to say so?

QUOTE(Lordz` @ Feb 2 2007, 08:32 PM) skeleton?Or was it a kumantong? I never see a khunpaen with skeleton. QUOTE(kschong @ Feb 3 2007, 03:08 AM) V3i HoN6, i think you are right. Ya. You bring back my memory.Sad to hear about your story, but luckily i'm always staying alone and don't let anyone touch my stuffs. Just because of that, all my amulets, tangkai and even lots of statues are all well protected by me.. Added on February 3, 2007, 3:10 amBy the way, just for your info. LP Win actually passed away last year about Oct 2006. The temple kept his body for 100 days. It's LP Ban who made those somdej that sit on a cock, eagle, haruman, fighting fish and boar. lordz, You can check out here about LP Ban and compare if your amulet is anything like the picture below. If yes and provided that it is not imitate then congrats, those are really bombs. R.I.P. LP Win. Will post my LP thuad statue when i'm free. |

Don't expect things like you will get girl or win lottery when wearing KhunPaen or wearing some 9 amulets at once and go rob a bank. Doesn't matters an old or new amulet. Just make sure you get the genuine one from your Ajahn, wearing it with respect and such. A big miracle may happen or it may not. But at least their bless stay with you. I personally heard and read a lot of miracle wearing an amulet. My favourite one are the LP Khoon amulet that let this man live after hitting by 20 over bullets. All the bullets broke his shirt and stuck right at the outer skin. I saw the picture with his back all bullet wound. Wow. Any meaning behind covering the face? like See No Evil? or whatever? How will it work to be wealthy by wearing Pidta? easier to gain promotion if working or business contact will increase for businessman? or do you mean strike lottery? The amulet which grant people fighting spirit are usually worn by who? Muay Thai Fighters? Isn't Hunuman a Hindu worshiped deity? Monkey God. Which monk will give out Monkey God's amulet? I gotto agree with you that these amulets only work on people with strong faith and most importantly, a good heart. The recent malay mail reported that the gang who robbed Subang Parade's Poh Kong were all wearing amulets. Similar to Botak Chin's and BetongKali's. Yet one of the gang members were killed, same goes to Botak Chin and Betong Kali last time. They were all wearing amulets. Why still the amulet powers doesnt work? probably they are using it for a bad intention. Sorry for asking so many questions. I'm a Theravada Buddhism practitioner, these amulets thinggy are VERT new to me even my dad collects some of them, he doesnt know about it. |

QUOTE(accessdenied @ Feb 8 2007, 10:44 AM) bro which part of taman segar. i want to go and have a look hehehehe Dear all, I'm not here to criticize anything but just wanna share something with all of you here... As mentioned by eg_9525 about the mahakala amulet, i would like to advise you guys be aware of this. Yes, basically this mahakala is really a tibet god, but if you talk about the so called master "xuen" (The shop Owner), I really don't have any confidence on him. As far as I know, this so called master Xuen's master named Master Wong was selling those fake amulets at (17th Flr) Jln Ipoh area about 20 years ago. Just try to imagine, how can a person doing fake amulets business suddenly become a tibet monk ? They produce 3000 amulets selling @ RM 1,800 per amulet, can you imagine if they finished the amulets, how much they got ? Is RM 5,400,000. Just imagine such a huge amount and they are the only one selling these amulets.Wah that is super expensive. 1.8k wo. crazy prize lah. Basically, i have verified their advertisement which is not really truth. There are some arrangement behind. The purpose that i post this message is because i don't wish to see anyone got cheated. Remember, it is RM 1,800, not a small amount. That's all I can share, believe it or not, IT'S ALL UP TO YOU!!! |

My father used to have one and he place it at the door's sidewindow. The amulet used to be in a glass/plastic cover and its a 4 face Buddha. I accidentally broke it last time and after that my father just place it at the door's sidewindow. I dont have any pictures but the closest i could recall from memory is through this picture in Golden Bronze colour ![]() Can any sifu tell me about this amulet? |

Interesting thread and read, guys.
Seems like there are quite a handful of veterans and seasoned collectors in here. I'm not really in touch with the Malaysian Thai amulet collecting scene but just out of curiousity, how much can a genuine 1. Somdej Wat Rakang 100th Anniversary (recycled original material) and 2. Somdej Bangkhumprom (original by Somdej Buddhajharn Toh) fetch in Malaysia? |

Sawadikap, you all can call me Nick (A Thai Amulets Collector). I am helping my friends to sell those thai amulets. All the amulet guarantee genuine and direct from Monks/ Archan / Lersi/ Temples. If you are interested with any of the amulets, please contact or sms Nick 017-3989238.
This Phra Lersi Pok Gae is from Luang Phor Pern Temple. Behind of this amulet insert with a bronze trakut with special spell. Phra Lersi are Indian hermits who are credited to be the founders and patron saints of various professions like doctors, religious tattooists, white magic practitioners, herbalists and many others. There are a total of 108 sacred hermits who are recognised by name and many others who are not. Most often than not, all 108 of the hermits are represented by a generic image of a wisely old man wearing a conical hat and tiger skin robes but there are also specific images who represent specific Phra Lersi. In Indian mythology, Phra Lersi received worldly knowledge from the gods and taught these knowledges to men. Thus, these Phra Lersi are also the masters of knowledge and are frequently worshipped by students and people in academic pursuits. As Phra Lersi are also credited to be the founders of the Thai magical arts, they feature prominently on the altars of magical practitioners in Thailand and are invoked in rituals. By carrying with oneself the images of Phra Lersi, one can be protected from all forms of black magic and evil spirits as well. Students are also recommended to wear his image as he is able to aid one in studies and knowledgeable pursuits. This post has been edited by Nicklkc: Mar 20 2009, 12:34 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

This quite unusual and attractive amulet was consecrated by one of the famous Lersi. He is renowned for creating 'Love Amulets' and on this occasion he has excelled himself. The front features Khun Paen with his two wife sitting on his lap, whilst the reverse features two bronze trakuts . There are 'ren yuen oil' or thai people name it 'flower oil' inside this amulet. Khun Paen is known to us from ancient Thai literature as a 'Dashing Lover' and 'Able Warrior'
This amulet was made for one specific reason only and that is as a charm to attract women. Highly recommended for people who want that extra confidence in approaching member of the opposite sex. It can be say you are very hard to find another same piece in the hole Bangkok now. For your information this Lersi collect the material his own self and most of the material are hard to find from the jungle. We are provide the spell translate in Bahasa Malay. QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Jun 16 2008, 05:51 AM) i really wish to get something that will help me to avoid sueyness and all the bad thing Hi edOgawa, u can try 2 have a 'flower bath' at those temple that is got buddha background (that mean can believe and not those tipu wang). For ur info, Chinese Emperor long time ago already used this method as to keep their self clean up those 'unlucky things' ,bad things and can help to 'upgrade' their luck.i have real lots (i mean really really lot) of bad things, unlucky things happening to me ... now i am even too poor to go Thailand to pray.. Anyone know which temple/god/pendant that helps to 'buang'/avoid suey? (I dun need those that help me strike lottery etc, i just want a smooth sailing and peaceful life (work, personal, family and friends and love) The flower should have seven type of flower in different colour. Now a day taoist or thai monk stil using the same method for those people who need to clean up their bad things. Are u a buddhist? if u don't have any religion even u wear what ever good amulet, u stil can't able to feel the different. If u are a buddhist, u can try to having a jatukam ramathep amulet. Not so say that u having a amulet that mean u no need to work and the money can drop from sky. U stil have to hardworking doing any thing. Then only buddha can help u in the 'another hand'. All rite, that's all. Hope my info can really help u bro. Always keep urself awake and sleep atleast 8 hours a day. |

QUOTE(kschong @ Feb 2 2007, 04:41 PM) Most of the amulets are bringing you good luck and help you can go smoothly in term of carier of whatsoever...of course, it can protect you from some danger incidents also...basically, Jatukarm generally can help you to change your luck from bad to good...but, usually it is not necessary to beg jatukarm to give u anything, he will give it to you naturally when he feels wanna give you...this is so far what i understand about jatukam...anyone wanna add in something... |

The Jatukam craze has died down in Thailand since about a year back. Nowadays, only hardcore collectors still find Jatukam. It's not easy to get a GOOD jatukam amulet since so many commercial batches were made in a short span of time. If you'wanna start collecting amulets, better start with a collection of either somdej, pidta, khun paen, chinnaraj or lp thuad. All this are popular from olden days and will still be for many years to come.

QUOTE(maloa @ Jul 2 2008, 09:02 AM) hello taingonghai...true..'ve got somdej, pidta and lp thuad..the news on bangkok is collecting phra phrom...4 face god.. Hi bro,Thanks for your compliment. Seriuosly Jatukarm craze have been died down from recent month. But its a good thing also, coz if are not many ppl crazy about that jatukarm amulet...at least there will not have much fake ones appear. Just like the Somdej, b'coz of the popularity(from time to time), i forsee there are many many fakes ones out there...and some of that amulet u cannot even differenciate which is real and which is not. BTW, in BKK not only Phra Phrom is famous...now they are famous with Lersi, Ganesha and the new ones....Spider Amulet from Kruba Krissana. Many more amulet will get famous from time to time.....just the matter which is good and which is not (i mean those black magic amulet). I have been praying and worship thai buddhism for quite a while already...for me, i think is just what u believe in is the most important....not what the latest amulet. Coz i have been giving a donation to Thai Temple in thailand and in return...they will give me the amulet...will keep it as a souveniar and will give it to someone for free as a present to help out for those who need it. Cheers guys. Hope i didn't write too many things... Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu... |

This Luang Phor Watchala is the student of LP Sarit. But LP Watchala is more famous then his 'sifu'. His candle praying( like melt the candle then pull it long long and but on your head) is very famous. Then later the candle can made your own amulet. That amulet like got your 'chi' inside. Is quite interesting. I quite regret didn't 'rent' the Acharn Locket Amulet from Wat Nathawee. Sad..... This post has been edited by Nicklkc: Aug 9 2008, 02:45 PM |

[attachmentid=592931] Added on September 16, 2008, 5:21 pmthe black thing i was holding was actually bia gae, which is good for warding off evil, blackmagic didnt know what is that until i actually found it while surfing what a coincidence . was given by my brother in laws dad he said is very rare, and its best to bring along when staying in hotel. this biagae has been with me for years already yet when i shake inside still got liquid substance, wonder when will dry. http://www.siam-amulets.com/bia_gae2.htm This post has been edited by heng84: Sep 16 2008, 05:24 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Tohsan @ Sep 17 2008, 09:49 AM) i have no idea, its a gift, said to be kept for 20years from him, ive been keeping it for 3-4 years, thats why i need help to identify where they are from, and from who, anyway its shiny like got sapu oil, clear words front and back , but that was when it was in a plastic casing, however last year the casing crack, then i take for people to change, the people need to burn the plastic in order to take out but they burn till the pidta like very dry and the wordings on front especially then hands and leg, are missing, quite hard to see now, but the back still can see. sob sob. will appreciate if any of u got idea where my amulets come from |

Hi all sifu, few years ago, my father got a Buddha amulet from his close friend, a malay friend, according to him the amulet was found at Gua Musang mountain during excavation, and according to him and a friend of mine who is also amulet collector, believe it is at least 1000 years old. Another friend told me it is a BAD amulet, better don't keep it. Well, I don't believe in him.
I'm too afraid to touch i'm afraid it'll crack. I'll try to take a photo later if I remember, for you guys to see. |

BAD or NOT BAD is not us to decide...If it is an amulet then u try carry with u....If it is not smooth then it is not suitable for u or u can say it is BAD amulet for u...Well, diff ppl carry will have diff outcome although it is the same batch, same monk blessed from the same temple...It depends...I'm too afraid to touch i'm afraid it'll crack. Its very good for health and some sifu say you can ask for wish fullfilling from this Buddha directly very effective in fact, thats what I heardla. QUOTE(cuebiz @ Apr 4 2009, 12:04 AM) It is a Soon Teck. From my uncle's 23 years experience of seeing alot of buddha amulets. From the photo , it might be a fake. First thing is that this monk who made this amulet , is for the king rama no.5 . Thailand year 2411. Which is Singapore year 1868. Now Thailand year is 2552. Which is Singapore 2009. Your buddha will be 141 years old now .From the back wordings , my uncle read them already. Do you know , old amulets rarely have wordings written on the back of the amulet. May i know how much did u buy it for ? *Add-on* And if the amulet were really that old , the wordings should not be so clear to be able to read . Really hope is that my uncle is see wrongly ... Don't get angry because of my uncle. Because , he is really very experienced at looking at buddha amulets. This post has been edited by veken: Apr 8 2009, 11:21 PM |

Do you know , in the market , there are many other fake which are the same as that. Because you "boh tio cheng"(hokkien) before. |

QUOTE(veken @ Apr 8 2009, 11:17 PM) It is a Soon Teck. Your buddha will be 141 years old now . Thanks for the info. Got the amulet from a widow whose late husband has been keeping it for a long time. From the back wordings , my uncle read them already. Hi any one know the information and details of this amulet, it look like Jatukam but i was told that it is not Jatukam because two distinct features of Jatukam was missing, namely one of the feature in the amulet is snake and not dragon (as in Jatukam) and second feature is all Jatukam amulet has rahu but this one dont have. I attached herewith the similar picture of the amulet from other website as the pictures snaped by my handphone look very blur.

Sometimes....fake new and old amulets are easily found in Thailand itself... sometimes even monks themselves also cannot ascertain many amulets..... becareful when getting one.
As long as that amulet has caught your eyes and heart, then no point keep asking ppl for it's originality or fakeness!. All in the heart of the beholder! |

QUOTE(cskeong @ Nov 7 2007, 10:22 AM) hiya guys. i just recently bought one thai amulet. my mum n auntie pester me nonstop to buy saying it will help me etc etc. anyways the amulet depicts a male sitting and a female hugging the male and there are 2 chickens under the male n female. may i know what kind of purpose is this amulet for? i know some amulets are for protection, wealth, luck etc. what about mine? and also how to properly care for it? heard a lot of things like must take it to temple for prayers regularly etc etc. help please. That is Khunphaen...i got 3 of it. but in order for it to take effect..you must wear it for at least a year. depends on the person wearing it, the your mind is accepting it, the faster the amulet's charm will help you. |

Any brother here know the information of this monk, apparently famous in kelantan, know as Than Di. Attached herewith of his picture. I saw one of his pitta selling for RM3000 (temple price) [somewhere in the month of October 2009]. I was there on 7th December 2009 where my friend wanted to rent the pitta amulet that cost RM3,000.00. But it was rented out alreadly.

Hi Junshern,
Pitta is the image of a disciple of Buddha covering his face with his hands to seek peace and blissfulness (see no evil). This form of amulet has a history exceeding a thousand years. Variation to this form of amulet include more than two hands, some with additional two to four hands to cover the ears (hear no evil) and/or the lower body (no sexual misconduct). The two hand version is called Pitta Mahalap while versions with more than two hands are called Pitta Maha Ud. Generally, Pitta amulets are associated with protection from harm and evil. However, many are not aware that Pitta Mahalap amulets are also often associated with bringing fortune. Pitta Maha Ud amulets places additional emphasis on the aspect of safety, protection from harm and evil. Hope that helps. |

Becoz this version of Pitda is strongly associated to protection from harm, invulnerability, people have associated it with fighting. It helps in fighting coz it provides protection but it does not cause a person to like fighting as many have misunderstood. The power of amulet comes from the wishes, i.e., protection from harm, loving kindness, smooth endeavour, luck made by the master during its consecration. If the master is a true Buddha's diciple, keeping his precepts and practicing Dhamma, he will be respected by all beings, celestrial or terrestrial. The deva king has promised the Buddha that he will help all beings who follow the Lord's teaching. Thus when the master wishes for peace, protection, etc for the bearer of his amulets, those wishes will be granted. Of course, the extent of the effect will also depend on the devotees own karma and doing. That's my opinion and what I have learned, pardon me if there's any shortcoming.

I plan to go to Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi. Wat Tham Sua. The temples sells amulets too right. The famous monk there is Ajahn Jumnien Silsetso. So can I get an amulet for luck from there? I heard the amulet that contains tiger skin at the back is a good one. Give me your opinion... Thanks. |

Hi to everybody. I've never had an amulet before, so would like to have some advice. I see in www.lelong.com.my there are some amulets for sale by a seller called yannichong. Can I know if these are considered genuine articles? Thank you for any kind advice on this.

It is hard to distinguish whether it is genuine if you are getting it from the Internet. Best is still direct from the temple or recommended shops. |

Very hard to say also if direct frm temple,..If famous temple, also got repump/reissue amulets..My experience of this incident in Wat Rakhang, Bangkok and Wat Tat Noi (Porthan Kai) in Nakhon Si Thammarat..But if normal/affordable amulet, very easy to distinguish in the eyes of a kammakan (certified amulet judge).

QUOTE(Tohsan @ Mar 22 2010, 01:48 PM) Nang kwak or Sivali will be a good choice for girl, good for doing sales and relationship kinda thingy. Hi sister secretass,Bro Tohsan is right, really respect his knowledge..Sivali is a salesperson amulet..For opposite sex attraction, metta, persuasive talking ability and wealth, KB Krishna butterfly amulet is good..Dun worry abt salika or butterfly..If u look carefully at KB Krishna's butterfly amulet, it's actually a pair of salika that combines to look like a butterfly, altho he makes salika per se amulets..So, that solve the issue of salika or butterfly..Get both types of amulet, Sivali and butterfly, then u get what u r looking for..sales, good persuasive talking ability and opposite sex attraction..all for a girl wif such requirement.. But if u only want to have one amulet, then based on my experience, I suggest that u get a butterfly..for a lady with good persuasive talking ability, metta, opposite sex attraction, it would aid very much in doing sales and wealth follows.. Do call me if u need further assistance/clarification at 012-2477798..Afterall, I dun have all the details of yr situation. A more comprehensive, personal/confidential discussion would bring a much better recommendation..that's if u dun mind..I sincerely wanted to help, that's all.. To me, I don't agree if an amulet's "better" than another. It's all in the mindfulness and in the good faith of the wearer. What's most important is that it brings us protection and to ride out the rough times. I agree, Keschaiyoh Somdej are among the rarest to find in Malaysia..some say even rarer to find than WRK. I do have a very old (and worn-out) KCY in my collection. I hadn't have the time to take close-up pictures of it yet but I'll do so soon. |

Hi fellow collectors,
I am helping my friend post pics of her late-husband's amulet collection. He passed away leaving a boxload of amulets but no money for her two daughters. They are now in their early secondary and need money for education. You can make any offers on any amulets you see in my postings. Proceeds shall go to my friend (the widow) and towards her child's education which is an increasing burden to her currently. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i am trying to get all the collection photographed and posted here in this forum asap ( it will take time though so it will be gradual ) Please email me at anyy1978@yahoo.com for any offers thank you This post has been edited by yn2000: Apr 22 2010, 11:47 AM |
