Actually if you just look at performance, on 2 or 3 years historical performance actually ATR beats select bond hands down. But ATR is very volatile. I like my FI to behave like FI.

Select bond volatility is really low for an Asian bond fund. Credit to the fella who recommended the fund to me.

No.
Assuming nobody buy/sell after IPO. Stock price goes up 20%. Everyone gains.
*
Let's consider a case with buy/sell...

A & B bought a stock at IPO price of 1.00.
A later sold the stock to C for 1.10.
The stock price dropped to 0.95. Panic of the drop, C 'cut loss' and sold the stock to D.
After the company reported good results, the stock price jumped to 1.20.

A - gain 0.10
B - gain 0.20
C - loss 0.15
D - gain 0.25
overall - gain 0.40

Overall is loss, but it's still not zero sum game. I never said it must be positive.
You google for historic price of Berkshire Hathaway. Don't say every thing which has gone up must come down. Yes, short term, this stock had ups and downs. But long term, it has been all the way up.
(This stock has never had split, so it's easy to see the point.)

Btw, ethical issue not withstanding, I am not against forex trading, so don't be too sensitive. My aunt's husband is a professional commodity trader, and he is very rich.
But, as a part timer and somewhat risk aversive, I will stick to the more passive way.

Gold is another issue...

Sedihnya kami tak dpt beli fund yang bagus mcm ni~
Searching for other market bond fund baru dpt cari Affin Hwang ni

Go buy direct from Affin-Hwang or thru bank. Affin-Hwang Select Income is a good fund that I would strongly recommend esp if u don't want a too complicated portfolio, it covers Asian bonds and Asian dividend-yielding stocks.

Affin Hwang Selection Bond Fund appears to be a strong contender to Libra AsnitaBond Fund.

I am just wondering why the performance rating is different between Morningstar & Lipper. For e.g. Libra Asnita Bond Fund has a 3-star rating in Morningstar but 5-star rating in Lipper. Even when we compare 3-years, 5-years & 10-years rating, they are different. Do they use different metrics to compare the performance? Thanks.

Their web interface is really "chey kai" one ! One has to read it more carefully.

If the fund is listed with a *, then not tradeable online. This Affin one is not listed with a *.
