QUOTE(lee82gx @ Sep 27 2016, 03:49 PM) So, after 150k invested whats your IRR and time invested? Help us see into the future man. do note that my total investment includes my PRS funds too. I'm approaching 1yr with 15k invested and having 2-3% IRR. worst fund is Rhb Kidsave, invested and topped up 3 years, now still -3%. looking to dump by jan 2017... |

QUOTE(dasecret @ Sep 27 2016, 05:31 PM) Actually unit trust is considered passive, active is those trading equities and derivatives directly example already given And why shouldn't retiree, housewives and layman learn about managing their own investments? In the 90s when shares boom they have no issue talking about which share to chase And these days the taxi drivers and wet market vege sellers also property investment experts can talk this n that project. Just because the crutch exists people won't want to learn how to walk without it. That, to me is the biggest problem in this country Erm.... why do you think it's timing issue? I also started in 2013... ok ma at the moment, of course you don't talk about feb'16, that time teruk la, IRR worse than FD board rate back to kidsave, i think it was heavily affected by Ulicorp's share price ( it has 9-10% in its holdings). if not i will have + return on Kidsave by now. |

QUOTE(adele123 @ Sep 27 2016, 05:44 PM) Ya... exactly... your when is rather early... I need to start improving my income and asset... i started with roughly 30k+, bought into 6-7 funds (including prs) lumpsum - very unfortunately the biggest amount i allocated was for KIDSAVE Btw, when you entered in 2013, you also dca right? So, should be able to smooth out the up and down? Or was it lump sum? then i dca over the years were u the one with japan fund? i hope u hvnt sell it yet |

QUOTE(adele123 @ Sep 28 2016, 09:21 PM) Not to sound interrogative but i'm really curious. very nice returns why would you want to bank on your profits... at 15%? there must be stated timeframe. 15% in 5 years is not ideal for UT investment (might as well throw the money in FD). and i feel like by doing that, the compounding effect is gone. anyway, i point out i was bitten during volatility of bond fund, which while usually bond funds are less volatile, the market shock possibility is still there. QUOTE(Yipiyaya @ Sep 30 2016, 10:24 AM) Thanks for the comments, I got your point err why u removed RHB balanced fund? its a good fund leh AmDynamic Bond - 25% CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income-MYR - 35% Eastspring Investments Small-Cap - 20% Kenanga Growth - 20% Is this ok? And as a beginner, is it wise to hold 4 funds, or should I just focus on 3 funds? i suggest allocated 10% in global fund, reduce bond allocation. go for aggressive portfolio when you're young |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Sep 29 2016, 11:53 PM) I'm in the midst of choosing in between two new funds into my portfolio one is RHB Asian Income Fund and the other is AmAsia Pacific REITS Class B. my point of view is, if your portfolio has substantial allocation focused in Asia then can go for REITs. - RHB Asian Income Fund is at all time high now 0.6529, is it worth to invest now? - From a history data, AmAsia Pacific REITS returns are damn good > 20% average. Any opinions? |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Oct 1 2016, 11:14 PM) Google India and tap on the news. the war just escalated. expect further from in the fund price that's why I didn't do a full top up and saved 40% of the intended top to to be ready by next week. Usually I top up I dun see external news.. I top up when the date comes. That's why didn't know bout this war escalated this time.. |
