QUOTE(Avangelice @ Oct 20 2016, 06:56 PM) if you say so brother. I don't want to have that bad conscience on my shoulders because I really cannot imagine how one can make money out of exchanging two different currencies. UT which is similar to stocks. You win in stock market somebody must lose. It is a zero sum game unit trusts on the other hand pools a collection of funds from a group of people to be invested into sectors be it technology or real estate to generate growth. that's the definition. http://thefirstmillionisthehardest.net/blo...-forex-trading/ So by right you should feel bad too making money from UT. Lol |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Oct 20 2016, 07:27 PM) stocks and uts allow investors to pool their buying power to invest in a country or company to allow it to eg Ok lah. Not going to argue on this. Kinda pointless buy a machine if you invest in health care or start more projects to create more housing in REITs or maybe a new tech start up needs funds to manufacture a new gadget. no matter how much research on forex there's never a single definitive answer where does the money come from. For me it is simple. As long as it can make money for me legally, I don't really care the things behind it |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Oct 20 2016, 09:15 PM) okok. i lose, you guys winnot gonna argue on this to me it is simple as long as whatever i invest makes money legally, doesn't matter what investment it is, i will go for it it is also cool if anyone feels it is morally wrong and not go into it to each its own This post has been edited by brotan: Oct 20 2016, 09:23 PM |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Oct 21 2016, 12:20 AM) Let's consider a case with buy/sell... then 1 year later company post losses, price drop to 0.8, how?A & B bought a stock at IPO price of 1.00. A later sold the stock to C for 1.10. The stock price dropped to 0.95. Panic of the drop, C 'cut loss' and sold the stock to D. After the company reported good results, the stock price jumped to 1.20. A - gain 0.10 B - gain 0.20 C - loss 0.15 D - gain 0.25 overall - gain 0.40 |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Oct 21 2016, 12:40 AM) Overall is loss, but it's still not zero sum game. I never said it must be positive. ask him become your sifu lah. heheYou google for historic price of Berkshire Hathaway. Don't say every thing which has gone up must come down. Yes, short term, this stock had ups and downs. But long term, it has been all the way up. (This stock has never had split, so it's easy to see the point.) Btw, ethical issue not withstanding, I am not against forex trading, so don't be too sensitive. My aunt's husband is a professional commodity trader, and he is very rich. But, as a part timer and somewhat risk aversive, I will stick to the more passive way. Gold is another issue... |
