notworthy.gif for fund that is less than 1 year, try use ROI.....

note: if you had gotten into it in Jan/FEB......better "Huat-lah" than Dec 2015

ROI means the amount shown in "profit" in FSM account?

that is simplest....(does that profits take into consideration of sales charges paid?)
for more than 1 year than use IRR....
FSM does not have this function....

The IRR is annualized, so it will appear higher if less than a year of investment

ROI, just the current value of the fund/portfolio over your invested amount in the fund/portfolio smile.gif

Always finds it interesting how people rebalance the portfolio, the considerations given to drop existing ones in favour of the new ones. Tell us more.

For my personal case, I'll drop underperforming fund after several top ups.
What indicator I use? I'll use IRR.

Two funds are keep on struggling in my portfolio:

1. Eastspring Investments Asia Pacific Ex-Japan Target Return Fund
2. Kenanga Asia Pacific Total Return Fund

A little regret for selling off CIMB Dynamite but since I have similar fund in my PRS holdings. Don't really feel the "pain". LOL

If you look on the performance chart, the Dynamite fund outperforms these two for the past 3 months.
All 3 funds have similar mandate at the same region and about similar goal of annual return.

Just wanna clarify something... when people say ROI here, do you guys mean the unrealised gain shown in the "Profit" column on your holdings page?

Kind confused coz in my circle, ROI means something else..

To me, I do not consider anita mui as my portfolio, rather, a better instrument/deposit than fb/asx laugh.gif

Only keep about just enough routine expense in banks and cash, others dump inside there to generate better return/interest before moving some of it to CMF monthly for RSP, other significant expense and other investment opportunities smile.gif
