QUOTE(IpohLad @ Apr 4 2017, 06:52 AM) You the one who hold the money isnt it? If you tell them you wouldn't buy their product because they don't have this and that. Its all down to demand if the majority consumers are happy with low spec car then the distributor wouldn't supply high spec car because that no demand. Will I agree with your comment.. Unfortunately and as pointed out by Westlife, not enough of us hold the money to sway the thinking. So for now, it's in the hands of the brands themselves to outshine their competition. Just like the current telco wars, each trying to outdo the other with perks and value deals. If majority of us start demanding then they will have to respond to the market demand otherwise we take our money somewhere else. The money still in your hand you have the choice. Now if there are guarantees that in a few months to say 2 years time, cars will be sold at reasonable prices and with full active features, as certain other choice markets, I'm sure I and a few others won't mind holding off purchasing... IMO, I doubt such will happen.. I do hope to be proven wrong. QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 4 2017, 07:08 AM) if u know boelhland ppl's buying priority, u know it is unlikely as 'majority' like I said, price is the 'only' concern, ppl may compare and complain about spec this spec that, but in the end, they still go for the price only. True.. Pretty frustrating... The feeling of helplessness.looking at the sales, u know that P2, P1, Honda and Toyota are the choices for most ppl, because of price. Tiguan 2017 is a perfectly good car,but in the end the potential buyers will be minority still as there are many many other cheaper options that are what majority bolehland ppl care only. It has nothing wrong with the car but more about buyers. If there is not even enough buyers for this car, the dealer will not even bother to offer other things. customers are the deciding factor, correct, but what makes what dealers do now are due to the cause that was done over many many years and it was decided based on the consumers behavior over the past many many years. It is possible to change, but if the consumers especially majority do not, nothing will really happen. If u compare country like Taiwan which has full range of engine variants for Tiguan there, even they do not have things like acc given that they are more major market than bolehland, I do not foresee the local dealer will bother much about local market even the minority. Only if this car becomes a favorite for majority, else it is impossible. But this is super unlikely. In fact, given the current spec of the new tiguan for bolehland, both spec and price are already more than what could be expected in the past in terms of surprise. |

So for now, it's in the hands of the brands themselves to outshine their competition. Just like the current telco wars, each trying to outdo the other with perks and value deals. the last gen tiguan is selling at RM178,888, for CBU unit. it was not popular among the bolehland ppl.Now if there are guarantees that in a few months to say 2 years time, cars will be sold at reasonable prices and with full active features, as certain other choice markets, I'm sure I and a few others won't mind holding off purchasing... IMO, I doubt such will happen.. I do hope to be proven wrong. True.. Pretty frustrating... The feeling of helplessness. if this current gen tiguan with such low starting price of rm142k (after 7k discount) and rm162k (after 7k discount) and it is still not sell-able. then seriously there is no hope that higher end or better spec tiguan will ever come in. the current gen price is very very similar to CR-V and CX-5 (japan cars), given its brand and price, tiguan should actually sell, if not, then like i said, really no hope for any extra things than the standard package. |

The vehicle is a good bargain, considering its competitors.. No doubts there.. VW has to step up its quality levels.. Particularly after sales service... Sure, every models and brand has their issues.. theirs (at the moment) and to put it simply, does not evoke trust & confidence in the product.if this current gen tiguan with such low starting price of rm142k (after 7k discount) and rm162k (after 7k discount) and it is still not sell-able. then seriously there is no hope that higher end or better spec tiguan will ever come in. the current gen price is very very similar to CR-V and CX-5 (japan cars), given its brand and price, tiguan should actually sell, if not, then like i said, really no hope for any extra things than the standard package. Has VWM revealed the line of colors for this new Tiguan?
Just saw a maroon-ish Tiguan in Youtube. Looks damn nice and prolly the best match for this car |

Price is not the only sole factor for majority of Malaysian buyer. Ppl are shying away fr vw is bcoz of reliability issue and after sales service. Vento is a clear example. Even though cheaper than city but who is buying? Similarly for Jetta as well. Even though solid but cannot even outsell altis that is literally tong kosong yet expensive.looking at the sales, u know that P2, P1, Honda and Toyota are the choices for most ppl, because of price.
