The current CX-5 diesel has blind spot monitoring and autonomous emergency braking. Not exactly the full suite of i-activsense as compared to a fully-loaded Mazda 3 or 6, but I would prefer the AEB over parking assist on a VW as the Tiguan is quite maneuvarable and visibility is good. Rear camera is only available on the Highline though, so Comfortline Tiguans would need to go to external VW specialist accessory shops to have it added, whereas CX-5s have rear camera as standard. Edited my post above to reflect that the more premium interior and exterior design was referring to the 2017 CX-5, not the current 2012-2016 one. IMHO, from my short showroom experience with the 2017 CX-5 fixes nearly all the things I don't like about the 2012-2016 CX-5, hence why I am holding off on buying the 2016 clearance stocks. Just waiting for the MY launch to know the price and lineup. From a "driving feel" perspective, I have a feeling that the new CX-5 will not beat the Tiguan in terms of perceived "solidness", as the Tiguan felt really good in that sense from my testdrive.
