No need Mr. Enter directly your name. Sometimes if you mis-arrange the order of your name also can pass through, as long as all info matches happy.gif

when i tried to purchase via payal..
it prompts me for CC num and details.. but my paypal is alreadt verified with a CC. how come it no detect and still ask for CC num ?

Happened to me once too.

If I'm not mistaken, you must have at least USD50 in your Paypal to make a purchase. Less than that, your CC will be used for the purchase.

The difference in my case is that I use Hong Leong Debit Card to verify my Paypal, instead of CC.

Hi everyone.
My problem is I can't topup using cimbclicks:

Service Announcement
We apologize that this feature is currently not available and we regret any inconvenience caused.
In the meantime, you can continue to top-up via your RHB bank account for free. If you want to apply for a RHB bank account, please contact RHB call centre at (03) 9206-8228 for assistance.

For further questions or concerns, please contact PayPal's customer service representatives at (03) 7723-7155 or email www.paypal.com/my/contactus

Thank you.

Is it system problem or what?
I'd just topup USD 143 on 9/1/2012 and buy something at ebay and it works fine. The item is on the way.
So yesterday I decided to buy another item yet i cant topup using other bank aka cimbclicks.
The funny thing topup from rhb can pulak.

So anyone have any idea on this?
Thanks~

Hey there, I just called PayPal and the rep told me that they are upgrading the system and notification will be sent through email once it's done. (no estimated time was given) In the mean time, we can only use RHB bank to top up.

Thanks but paypal called me and they said no more topup from other banks FOREVER.

So i went to RHB and make a new saving account with debit card.
I had add up my RHB debit card to my paypal account and they charged MYR 10 for verification and they had payback the amount to my paypal account.
Unfortunately it is in MYR, so i cant do anything with it unless i buy something using MYR.
So my question is:

When i buy something from ebay in USD, they just take the amount from my RHB account bank and convert it to USD right?
So do they charge anything?maybe for conversion or transaction?

Thanks~

Just received an email from them:

"Since October 2010, RHB customers in Malaysia have been able to top-up their PayPal account by transferring funds directly from their RHB Bank account. Following that, we had conducted a pilot phase to explore ways for you to top-up your PayPal account through Maybank, Bank Islam, CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank and Public Bank.

The pilot phase has now ended and as such, the “other bank accounts” top-up feature has been turned off with immediate effect. Thank you for your support and feedback."

So they probably will conduct phase 2 or something?

Did you get the card on the same day and got it verified right away? Or how many days did you have to wait? I might have to create an account there as well for the sake of the top up feature.

Yep they will convert it automatically with their own exchange rates or visa/master, no extra charges that I know of. (it will convert your MYR 10 as well)

Got the card at the same day but need 2 days to use the online banking.
To verify with paypal need 1 day.

The flow:
make a new saving account + debit(rm20 per year) > got card immediately >asked them to register online banking > add debit card in paypal > paypal took 1.5 days to verify > after paypal verify, u can shop online using paypal although u can't use rhb online banking yet because they had not yet add your phone number (need to call them after 2 days and it took 1 day to verify)

just made on an online payment a few minutes ago for a Groupon voucher with my Maybank2 mastercard via paypal, wasnt asked for my CC numbers or any other details. smooth hassle-free process.

perhaps this a security feature which is part of your credit card issuing bank's policies? would be beneficial for all forumers if u can share here which credit card u used when u encountered this incidence.

Hi , if the seller agree to refund then just wait for his refund and you may ask him when he going to refund you the money. If the seller, didn't send you the refund as his promise , then you need open a dispute to claim the money back

If you pay it in GBP , then you will get it back it GBP. That time , you use USD to Convert to GBP ? Or add the GBP Funds from Debit Card ?

from my experience regularly using PayPal since 2006, its better to use the foreign currency exchange rates determined by the bank issuing your credit cards. PayPal's forex rates suck cos they are always higher.

Using paypal link to debit card is the best in terms of charges(No charges for buyer), conversion(follow bank rate) and safety(able to open resolution case).

But actually either way is the same. Since now most e-commerce website provides protection plan for buyers whenever they place order. Unless you're going to those unknown websites then use Paypal is better.

The best safety plan is using credit card linked to Paypal. As they can apply resolution case and in case it fail, able to apply chargeback via bank.
